Any details about that winter RITS? Same place? Love to make it to one of these at some point. Don't own a tow rig or trailer for the bronco though, and driving her 8+ hours to wheel her all weekend and still make the 8+ hour drive home in time for work on Monday seems like a lot to ask of her. One day though...

Gadawgz71 is going to Windrock in TN in November I believe. We like to change up parks each year but Windrock is so big (72,000 acres) you can go every year and never see the same stuff.

With it being in the fall, you could call it FRITS. Fall Run In The Sun. I think I said that when we were at Durhamtown, too.

hey bronco-buds...i have been watching where you guys go riding up there and in fact, had one of your locations planned for a ride one day there in "Stoney Lonesome", which i liked because of the different riding terrains they had...

here's my idea....how's about we Florida swampers come up to join you guys one time for a joint fsb ride and camp, then maybe some of you could come down and ride with us in one of our annual trophy rides ???

run it by your crew and see how it goes...just the early stages of the idea right now, gonna see the feedback when we all get together in fall for a ride...

I am game. I have a couple request though. see below.

1. I need to get my bronco put back together.
2. Can we do it in cooler weather. spring or fall would be great.
3. Where ever we go in Florida is it near a beach so the wife can enjoy it as well as riding with us?

good....

ok, so #1 wasn't a question but in comment to it, get yer azz working on that rig !"...lol.

#2- yes, definitely....we don't do summer rides down here...just fall and winter/ spring..."The Ocala Off Road Trail Challenge" we hold in January...and it does get chilly down here.

That's exactly the time of the year that we would want to ride with you guys...maybe fall would be the best for us because the Ocala challenge and the Hardrock trophy runs are in January and April respectively...I would find it easier grouping us up in fall...if i was to recommend a run for you guys to test you vehicles, i would come down for Hardrock....brutal place but challenging...

#3- sorry, the riding areas we go are dead center of Florida....beaches would be 2 hours away...but we have a couple of guys in the Jax, Fl area and they may be able to tell you of alternate ways to satisfy that arrangement...i.e. stay by jax beaches and ride with our group coming out of jax area...???

all stuff that can be worked out...
check our florida area chapter for videos on Hardrock and Ocala...see which one floats your boat....

i am personally interested in seeing Stoney Lonesone but we will follow your guys lead on best and toughest rides to host us...all of us in the Florida group like to test our vehicles, so don't be shy...

i am thinking because of the logistics of pulling this off, let's shoot for next fall...not this one...that will give everyone and anyone a chance to be a part of this...

ty , be talking to yall soon...

Technically, RITS is for all of Dixie Chapter members which FL falls into. In fact, I believe the first RITS took place and was coined in FL. It hasn't been back since. Partly because of terrain and partly because most of the interest seems to come from GA, SC/NC, TN, and AL members.

gadawgz is right, the first Run in the Sun was 13 years ago down in Ocala..a lot of the guys who were there for that first run aren't around on the site any more..hard to beleive it was that long ago.

8hrs to stoney and just under 9 for me to windrock..I'd be willing to take a crack at driving up there..would be a hell of a ride in the Bronco..

Looks like 5.5 hrs from my house to hardrock. The real rough ones are obx NC and VA beach from here. I cant recall how long ittook to get from Wilmington, NC to VB butit seemed like forever, and wilmington is 6.5 hrs from here. I definitely need more hwy miles on mine before trakking TOO far. I really need a 7.3 excursion and trailer....

the way i look at it is simple...i am going to go wherever i need to, to wheel with as many good folk and share some camping and truck chat, driving experiences and laughs....truthfully, after all the bs in the world, i look forward to making as many of those moments.

i have been wheeling with good people all over this country, learning from alot, teaching some crap along the way too...

i guess i am saying, i will be there for a fall run with you guys and i am going to talk to the Florida crew and see who is onboard for a road trip...maybe we could all meet up and convoy it up...so, as of right now i am planning on next fall...

then you guys decide how and when you wanna come down here...watch when i post a picture of the trophy in the Hardrock section
in Dixie chap. ...you may want to come down and take the title from jermil...lol...he has people gunning for his this next year...me being one...lol...
