trying to get the vent line situation on my front diff sorted out..turns out I had another open hole, which meant more water in my diff..

on top of that, what I thought was a working breather line went into a blank spot, and I can't find anything that will thread into the existing holes so I may need to retap...

this is where the hose barb was for the breather..but there isn't a hole there..

also, make sure you check for ticks..I found a couple on me the other day..man I hate those bastards...

what a crack up...my wife just texted me that she is going around the truck beating it with my big rubber mallet getting the mud to fall off, sweeping it into a pile and filling in low spots by the house...lol...she cracks me up...

I googled Karen carpenter. There's like 50 million of them, not all skinny.

Ticks? Haven't seen any of those, But apparently I got bit by something like 4 times on my ass. I may have sat in an anthill waiting for the Jeeps to finish screwing around.

why not just fill the hole with some RTV? even if you tap it and put a bolt in it you will ahve to seal the threads anyways.

why isnt the door opening? is the edge catching on the fender? mine did that when i bought my truck and i had to fix it. the previous owner ignored it and it messed up the edges pretty bad. it might jsut need new hinge pins or the fender to be adjsuted. probably the later since u messed it up soo much with the bumper

and as i said frank we can do some cheap mods to help ya out offroad. i have that limited slip diff for the front still we jsut need to swap it in when we tear down the TTB and that will give ya good advantage. check your axle code on the vin sticker and see if you have facotry limited slip or not. if you do you may need to put a clutch kit in it which would help alot also. if you do not then you can always swap in a junkyard limited slip or you could go aftermarket limited slip or locker. if you dont drive the truck onroad exept on these trips you could always weld spider gears or get a minispool kit. im sure you dont want Angelos issues with the lunchbox locker

a set of F250 leaf springs will lift the rear 3" and will help prevent axlewrap also. when i pulled that axle for from the junkyard, i got the factory F250 block kit with u bolts and plates which would add 2" also. ill keep my eyes open for a cheap used lift kit also or you could post in the classifieds for one.

since you have the AOD tranny, i would get a shiftkit for it. it will help it last longer on and offroad. ive installed a few of them in AODs and it really helped them. also it replaced a couple broken valve springs which we had no idea were bad

i do have my old 10.25" axle. i was gonna rebuild it at some point and sell it to a friend cheap. but if you wanted to go 1-ton rear axle then this would be a easy swap. i could put whatever gears you wanted in it and a factory limited slip. but it would be 8-lug and need shorter driveshaft

theres lots we can do to that truck to make it better offroading. you jsut need to be the one to decide on budget and finally pull the trigger. we dont have to go too crazy and it will still be a nice truck.

roflmao....ok first of all, i forget that there are people that are young enough to not know who the Carpenters were...dang, i'm old....and Hardrock seems to be one big ass ant hill...while i was sitting at one of the obstacles waiting to take video ants were crawling up my arms and biting the shit outta me...

james, we can play with the truck but i gotta wash it first...basically the truck just needs more traction...it is stock with open diffs front and rear...the motor has balls...she screams nice...i do my motors...but Hardrock is a place that demands all wheel traction...when do you want to attack this ?

buy the parts and we will get started

front might take 2 weekends so we can do it at your place or mine. we can do the front limited slip when we tear down the front axle. so get parts for whatever you plan on changing (wheel bearings, bushing, balljoints, u-joints) and let me know when you got them all. to install the carrier we will need a carrier install kit (marking paint, carrier bearings, shims) and probalby wont need to touch the pinion unless the bearing is going out

for rear axle, as i said we can do numerous things. you can get a junkyard limited slip and get new clutches for it, you can get a whole new factory limited slip pretty cheap (230$ HERE), you can go the redneck style and weld the spider gears, you can go expensive and get a good limitedslip/locker. or you could get a mini-spool kit which replaces the spider gears. as with the front, changing the carrier would need new bearings, paint, shims. we could probably knock that out in a day without touching the pinion gear either

the lift might let the body get less beat up and would prevent turning into a teeter-totter giving center more ground clearence. the leafs we can get from the junkyard, think they were like 20$ each so 40 for both for easy 3" lift in rear. takes a few hours to swap them by myself. the 2" blocks we can probably do in 2 hours and the F-250 u-bolts would be much stronger than most included in block kits

the shiftkit takes me a few hours to do. mainly because i have to clean the crap out of the valvebody and i check all the valves for broken springs cause theres always at least one. the kit costs 90$ plus ATF and filter

You messed up by not cleaning your truck the same day... I have a pretty good scanner but it only does koeo amd koer. The trans shop fancy snap on doesn't really show that much more. I think everything is right now. I have to give it a couple more days.

think I posted this in the other thread, but I did find out that they have hoses there..from now on we don't have to leave with mud all over the wheels and brakes..took about 20 minutes before I left to clean everything off..
