I went to the dark side and got a cherokee. Nice broncos are few and far between and I don't want a junker. I am going to build the jeep up and still wheel it though.

We made it up back in September, ended up finding a place to live in Funny River (across the river from Sterling), we're right on the Kenai River. Love it here. Bronco's the daily/weekly driver, we usually only leave the property once or twice a month for a quick run to Soldotna for supplies & mail.

Going to need a motor refresh real soon. Putting a new transmission in my 1 ton in early spring, and hoping to refresh bronco motor after that. May even bring one up the Alcan, got a trip planned for May to Oregon and back.

If anyone on the Kenai wants to get together, I'm game, I don't have offroad tires, and I don't trust the engine in my Bronco too no wheeling for me. Planning on buying a set of wheels and tires, and perhaps a lift kit while in Oregon this spring. Lift party this summer at my place? I'll supply the fish and beer.

Here's a pic from the trip up:
Bronco was towed up on a trailer behind the Uhaul.

I'll be moving there (Anchorage, JBER) in October and am super stoked about it. Ready to buy another Bronco and start wrenching. Anybody have any recommendations for shipping one up there? If I find a nice one in the lower 48 I'll be looking to get it up there. I've found a few in my searches in AK but really want a manual. Look forward to getting there and meeting some of y'all.

I'll be in North Pole around Jan 25ish. Bronco should be there in Feb whenever the AF decides to ship it. Any trails around North Pole?

shoot just throw the ranger on a uhaul car dolly and tow it with the bronco. probably save money. Good luck with the trip.

Hi all,

In the Fairbanks area here. Just picked up a hidden gem that was in Idaho hidding with 37,000 miles on it not too long ago. We all should get a meet set up sometime this summer by the weather so far it will be a good year for meets!

1979 Bronco RangerXLT, 400, 4.11 gears, all the options for that year, except cruise control...

I'm in Anchorage.

I have a 1990 Bronco XLT 5.0 w/ auto that is going to be my daughter's daily driver.

The current engine is shot. I've pulled it out and ordered a new long block. I might have questions for the forum over the next few weekends as the install progresses.

any suggestions on a reputable mechanic in Anchorage? I've got a fuel smell that is above my pay grade.

I'm here at JBER. I just bought mine a couple of weeks ago. I was hoping to find some kind of club here maybe but so far no luck lol I just moved here maybe a month and a half ago and don't know much around here. I wouldn't mind finding some off-roading places around that I could do (nothing too crazy though as I'm stock height with ATs lol
