Cool Another Bronco

I picked up this beauty a couple weeks ago, its a 79. Been sitting for a few years so it has some minor issues. Brakes were seized, found that the linkage was rusted. Cleaned it up and replaced the booster and MC. Needs some tuning and fix the rear window and it can be a daily driver. Had to pressure wash it first.

Something odd, this Bronco does not have a roll bar. I thought they all had them. Ill check under the carpet to see if the factory holes are there or not. Maybe it was removed.

Short history:
Receipts from back in 2001-2014 total over 12k
Engine and Tranny rebuilt in 2002
All bushings replaced back in 2013
New shocks, brake pads and rotors replaced in 2013
Misc. 33x12.50 mud tires, flares, roof rack, Brush Guard, Steps,Kenwood CD, Clairion AMP w/ 2 10s

After the wash and removal of the bug shield

Took the top off. From what I was told it has not been off since 2004.

Stinky will be the pretty one, going to take the time to make sure everything is done right. I felt like I was rushing so I could have it running and driving. Now that I have a runner I can slow down and enjoy the build more.

Ya know, I thought you had moved over to across the street from Explorer School in South Everett, as there's a black Bronco that looks a lot like Stinky. So I guess I was wrong. That blue one is really cool, and the shade of blue I want on mine, if I ever get one.

Not bad for sitting a few years; had some good work done to it already.

Looks great! Nice find. During my search for a 78 or 79, I really wanted a factory roll bar and only found one that had one. I searched for quite a while until I landed on my 78, too. So I guess they are actually kinda of rare?? Kind of like those sliding windows on your hard top. Those are cool

Very nice!! I have a 79 with no roll bar, but I saw on in a JY recently. I went back to pick it and the truck was gone... shoulda been more proactive.
Awesome find though, and yeah, it cleaned up great!

Cleaned up nice there man. I like the blue a very nice color. Looks like it might of been a cb bronco? Why did you take the bug deflector off?

Never did like bug deflectors on my Bronco's. If you want it I can send it to ya.

Trying to get it fixed up for a daily driver. Still cannot get a good brake pedal, New MC and booster but I've bled the brakes several times and its still soft. No leaks, may replace the Proportioning valve next. Replaced the rear window motor but still not working, need to buy a new switch and go from there.

Remember, the motor has a 'limit switch' inside the tailgate, in addition to the operating switch on the tailgate lock cylinder. Did neither operating switch work? Each draws power from different sources, so if neither works, that limit switch may be the culprit. It should be on the driver's side tailgate latch.

Have you tried bleeding the brakes with engine running? Seems to make difference on these older trucks

I have done it both ways, pumped nearly a entire bottle of fluid through all four corners.

Such endless optimism. Check for power at one of the door switches, and verify you have a good ground when the lamp is screwed in place.
