Today's pick a part haul!!

Very happy with my haul today. Picked up what appears to be a set of standard warn or mile marker hubs (still researching brand) for my 95 f150. Also grabbed the spindle nuts and spacers since my current setup is three bolt auto lockers. Broke em down and cleaned em real good in the parts washer don't tell me wife but I needed a parts washed to do the job!) I got all kinds of grime in them laying in that pick a part. The conditions are terrible for days after a rain. Laying on door panels and floor mats and it's just not conducive to working on greasy things. Anyway, paid $22 for the set. Not bad since the conversion kit alone runs about $35 and another 100 for the hubs new. If you can spot the missing two parts I'll give you a cookie.

EDIT: So the hubs definitely appear to be Warn Standard hubs, missing the warn logo that covers the phillips screw however.

Stripped the t50 on my broncos idler pulley so went after a new bolt and grabbed the entire accessory bracket from an f350, yard charged me $10 for the idler pulley that was still on it but didn't charge for the bracket. Then a few rows down I found an f150 with a like new tensioner pulley and, surprise surprise, a smog delete pulley! Paid $17 for the tensioner and teller bracket was free. So scored two idler pulley bolts as well.

Also grabbed the little metal piece of the heater core hose that passes by the alternator because why not. It was free.

all I found today was a ZF shifter that someone left in their 96 F250. Took the transmission, but left the shifter. $10.
Same truck had gray captains chairs and bronco style center console, in decent shape. Passed on them today. Probably be gone next time.

I was born with five senses, and Urgency wasn't one of them

I could go for a set of gray captains chairs for my f150, I really hate the bench. With a passion.

Good score. I found that same dash trim piece a few weeks ago, but, ran out of time to remove it gingerly. Went back the following weekend to finish up and found out the truck had been scrapped just two days prior.

We don't have pick n pulls.... Our "junk" yards are all newer shit and they never let you in the yard. I've been to a couple private "yards" however that are loaded with 60-80's fords. Many have trees going through them etc. Unfortunately one closed, and the other I don't know, it's been long enough I don't remember where it was.

Today's pick a part haul!!

Another successful haul today!

Got a 93 cluster with tach. PSOM from a 94. Unknown mileage on either.

5 idler pulley bolts. Why? Because.

A few door trim pieces, multifunction switch, console tray, 4wd shifter for my 95 f150.

Scored a bag of locking hub parts, including the missing shim from my other thread.

A cool set of antique plates off a 87 f150.

And I bought a little harbor fright wagon for 20 percent off the haul my tools.

And to top it off, I found twenty bucks on the ground!!

The local Pick 'n' Nose pissed me off the week before last. my Exploder was clipped by an @$$hat running from the cops, crunched my RH turn sig/marker assembly but good. No problem, the '90s Exploders and Mountaineers are cycling through currently, so I went to get one at the Pick 'n' Nose North of me. nine different Exploders, found a decent one, went to buy it, expecting to pay around $15-20. [B][I]WRONG[B][I]. They wanted $35 and tax for that...and I had to walk the full length of the yard to get to the Ford section. Greedy bahstidges. So they're on my s#!t list, and if I need something else I'll go elsewhere. Ever since Schnitzer Steel bought out the local company (Pull a Part, which had grand prices for self-serve used parts), they've been jacking the fawk out of prices on even the currently common crap. I could understand $35 or higher on a '79 Ranchero corner turn signal lens, as they're scarce nowadays, but for chrissakes, if it's common, stop acting greedy!

My apologies, I hijacked your thread for my rant. There's no excuse for me doing that, and I apologize. You certainly did score some stuff that's harder to find these days after Cash for Clunkers. And that $20, you must've done someone right to get that.

I know what your saying about prices. It's ridiculous sometimes. I paid $15 bucks for the same cluster at a different yard two weeks ago. This yard wanted 30.

They charge three dollars to rent a busted old wheel barrow. I bought the red wagon with big tires from harbor freight, it was about fifty bucks I think with a twenty percent off coupon. My neighbor has it right now and is reinforcing it with steel and extending the handle because I'm 6' 2".

The PullAPart in south Atlanta lets you rent electric golf carts with little dump beds for 5$ an hour, worth every dime. I ran one into a transmission that was sitting on the ground and ripped one of the front tires open, I hobbled it back to the front and the little hispanic guy acted like he was on a pit crew. 5 minutes later I had a new tire, no questions asked and drove off to abuse the cart some more

I picked up a silver set of that trim today while pulling a mostly complete interior, thinking it would look nice with some color changes, only to get home and realize it was two pieces, not all three. The long one on the right had been broken by whoever removed it to get the dash pad out, and the break line was so close to the wing-like curve of the pieces surrounding the steering wheel, I didn't even notice.

The yards here don't have carts, wheelbarrows, or golf carts, and they're so packed you can barely get through on foot, let alone towing something along. Cars are often stacked on top of each other.

The Pap down in Olympia is smaller, but the prices are fixed and posted online even. I haven't been there in a couple of years, but they rotate their selection through fairly quickly, probably because of the prices FWIW
