I've got an 86 and definitely interested in better lighting at some point...

I've had these in my Amazon cart for a while now, after reading positive things about them here on the forum: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0099...A1N9I2RC0NN4CX

NOT trying to be a smart*ss, but how would your proposal differ from those housings with led bulbs?

I've got the rampage h4 conversion kit with HD harness from jbg in my 85. The low beams are brighter than the stock high beams. How would these compare? I'm sure they will be brighter.

Would they be replacements to fit in the old buckets where the sealed beams were or would they need new bracketry and buckets to fit? Would they look like a sealed beam, or would it be more of a housing like the 87+ style?

Possibly. I'd like to see a set before purchasing. I would also be interested in a set of clear taillights retrofitted with LEDS if you were interested in making some. I posted in your for sale thread too.
