Not the best trip I've had. Plenty of ****holes.

One of the pilots thought we should fight the war smelling nice.

So since the air force doesn't like hurricanes to fawk up their jets, we scatter around the country. So instead of taking care of my house I'm taking care of a jet down south.

Any way, my luck sends me where the wind is stupid high and the book requires the use of 25k chains to prevent jumping chalks. An hour later after my grim reaper impersonation, I'm hitting the bar.

I'm a full time avionics guy, full time dcc, and am a part time FCC. I like turkey, never had a problem there.

What kind of wind do you have to have that requires mooring? That's a big airplane. I'd imagine it would take quite a lot.

The book has a chart of wind vs weight vs surface conditions. 30 knots for an empty unfueled on ice to 90kts for freighted with 249klbs of fuel on a dry ramp.

Another rainy day, another trip to fun in the sun.

Hey, lets land and get some gas please...

Best view of 'Murica.

Always wanted to see the grand canyon. Check that one off the list.

Lake Arrowhead allegedly.

Ways you know the hotel is fancy. Beats the hell out of an Army tent.

Creepiest nightlight and midnight snack I've ever seen.

Highest I've been yet actually

Rt 301 bridge I was stuck on for 3 hours last week driving from Andrews AFB to Dover for a recovery of a broken jet.

Another trip done alpha one.

No matter how nice the trip ends up to be, always nice to come home to little ole Dover AFB.

Those trips are mostly pacific coast bases trips. When I was at scheduling conferences, those missions were untouchable. (they used them as finny flights) However, I did manage to finagle 2 different missions to Christchurch in support of Deep Freeze, never got down to Antarctica though, C-141's are prohibited, or were at least. Good times in Christchurch!

Somehow someday I'd be absolutely honored to chief one. Then I'll have had boots on all seven. But alas, not anywhere close to normal operations out of Dover.

So my girl wanted to pee herself on my last run.

Commandeered a bucket truck to take a look.

Tracked it down to a leaking manifold that is the link between the fly by wire controls, mechanical backup mode, and hydraulic cylinders that move the rudder. Ordered one up, came in on the next fast train, and got 'er swapped out easy as can be. Just an awkward upsideown diagonal mount and the bastage weighs 55lbs, but it is the reason I tag along. Money for nothin' and the checks for free...

Last trim I wandered around DC to see the standard tourist sights. The air and space museum is pretty slick.

Ford power!

Always wanted to visit this. Thankful I was able to.

For all my world traveling, I've actually never been in a Subway system. Scratch that off the bucket list.

Another day found me borrowin' a Jersey bird that actually made me pull some tricks out of the hat to keep her goin'.

Refuel in Puerto Rico.

4000lbs shy of max gross takeoff weight, and almost right on the red line of the motors.

Supermoon over the Atlantic at 30k feet.
