So, this had some special meaning to me.

Back when I first got my White Fairlane, my gas door was crooked. My dad took it apart and made a stainless pin for it. Fast forward 30 years, I told Kegan about it and he removed the pin, polished it, added some stainless washers and roll pins and put it back together. Much appreciated.

Plan is now to get the weather stripping on the doors and the trunk, fresh latches, then I'll prob be taking it home for a bit, let my wallet recover. This has been painful.

I can't imagine how painful but man... she's looking like a total knockout.
love that the shop owner took special care of the memorial item.

Me too. This will be such a rockin' showcar, even if you don't show it but just drive it!

Wow.....looks GREAT!!

One comment.....the gloss dashboard looks great but the reflection off it in bright/full sun is going to be blinding. I only say this because I hate crap shinning in my eyes when I drive.

All stainless brake lines are in, and the brakes bled..

Sound deadener is in along with the shifter, that means brakes and park!..

I just like the look of this..

Starting on some weather stripping..

Gas door is on..

Random..

Did some work on the column, the shaft is nice and solid now.. So that's steering, brakes, and park. (almost portable)

So Dearborn sent me a trunk latch but no rubber, door rubber but no latches. We Wait.

Havent posted on this in a while, but that's because not much is going on.. we finished up at the hot rod shop,

Got the deck lid installed..

Door Strikers and latches..

Had to do a bunch of mods inside the column to fit a 4 speed (no shifter) hub onto an auto (column shift) column/shaft. Got that all straightened out, not it fits pretty well...

Then it was time to take her home for a bit.

Yhe guy in Orting, with the converible, he's now on the downhill side of final assembly. It has the new top and upholstery done and the shop's finalizing the assembly.

So I cleaned a spot in the garage, It has been a disaster ever since I brought my dads stuff over, still working on that stuff..

And I got her home. (so dirty from sitting on the fab side of the hot rod shop)..

Got her all wiped down with some detail spray, got all the dust/grit off..

Just feels good to have her at home for now..

What's that 'detail spray' you just mentioned? It's not that s#!tty 'car wash in a bottle' crap is it?
