I've never ridden on it but I've been passed by this one a few times while either geocaching or riding my bike. It has both open air and closed cars and they stop at the NOC so the passengers can have lunch on the river. My wife always thought it'd be a cool thing to do.... until she saw the ticket prices :)

This is my signature. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

not on an old train yet.

The Durango to Silverton Narrow gauge was one I wanted to do but was on such a time crunch I had to skip it the last time. I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express once....I mean I did take an Amtrak along the CA coast from around SanLuisObisbo? to San Diego. That was nice.

When I was a kid in grade school, we did a field trip taking an old steam engine driven train into Chicago and back. It was about 35mi one way. I remember the bathrooms emptied directly onto the railroad tracks! Ya wont see that anymore!

I've traveled just about every other way possible. a nice, long train ride is on my bucket list.
nothing very close by though. kinda lame to drive a few hours to jump a train to take a ride somewhere else.
no way in hell I'm leaving my hog sitting in a train station parking lot overnight.

I'll have to settle for something less unique. looks pretty cool if it's in your area though.

Ive operated an old switcher locomotive, but that's as close to an old train ride I've got.
