Hello 96 XLT new to me

Hey guys I just picked up my first FSB after having a 68' bronc for the past 5 years. My wife and 2 kids have quickly out grown the EB so I thought it was a good time to make the jump for the summer. I picked up a 1996 XLT 351 E4OD with auto hubs, green and silver paint and grey interior, about 150k miles. Seems pretty much stock. She has been in CO her whole life so only surface rust that I have found so far. I picked it up for $4500 and she made the 100 mile, 2500 vertical foot drive home without a whimper although there are some obvious leaks and shifting seems poorly timed and rough. I learned a lot lurking in here for the past few months, what a great site thanks!

Jason

Yo Jason,
Welcome & Great choice!
fyi:
In morning, check with local dealer to see if cruise control, if equipped recall was performed, have VIN ready. "Summary: ON CERTAIN PICKUP TRUCKS, PASSENGER VEHICLES, SPORT UTILITY VEHICLES, AND MOTOR HOMES CHASSIS, THE SPEED CONTROL DEACTIVATION SWITCH MAY, UNDER CERTAIN CONDITIONS, LEAK INTERNALLY AND THEN OVERHEAT, SMOKE, OR BURN. THIS COULD RESULT IN AN UNDERHOOD FIRE."
...
For your Broncos questions, it is better to ask each seperately in Noobie Bronco Tech Questions. Flame free zone. This will get more attention and you can build up your post count to get into other sections such as Bronco and Ford Parts/Accessories (75 posts required to view).

When you have time, fill out your Bronco Info with year, engine size, transmission type, transfer case type (manual or electric shift), locking hub type (automatic or manual) info & major mods such as a Lift, etc. for better responses.

Miesk5 thanks for the heads up on the cruise control recall, I wasn't able to call today but will tomorrow

a few more pics

The PO had removed the tire carrier so I picked one up on CL and it came with a perfect rear bumper for $80.. score! Started poking around to install and found out why it was removed in the first place... split seam on the tailgate. so much for my score

looks like I will need to come up with a different way to carry a spare.. I am planning on 33s so maybe the stock rack wouldn't have worked anyway?
