Good morning

I'm new to this forum. After three EB's, I am glad to finally have some leg room. I started building Mustangs in the early 80's/high school days, and that progressed to building drag and pro street cars. Built a few 150's and a couple early Broncos before I took a 10 year break from everything automotive. Decided to pick up this Bronco last Spring, and started building this Galaxie with an old friend a few weeks ago. Bought the Bronco from the original owner, Has a new motor and tranny, and only has a little surface rust. The Galaxie will be a long term project, but I'm sure it's of no major interest on this board.

Looking forward to chiming in on a few posts in the future

Welcome and that's a fantastic looking survivor! I love the patina on it :)

You'll find that the majority of the guys hanging out here are gearheads at their core and would find just as much enjoyment in hearing about your Galaxie as they do about the Bronco. We have a bunch of threads about the lives of the "other rides".

Thanks, I like the patina too. I'm lucky to have fond one this solid in south Alabama. BTW, I spent seven years in the mountains of western NC, between Bryson City and Andrews.

Welcome to the forum and congrats on the Bronco. From the original owner no less, don't see that very often on these older vehicles. We'd be interested in more info on it. I like the Galaxie too. Keep us up to date on the progress of both of them.

This Bronco was parked beside an old gas station for years. The original owner passed and his son in law would drive it about once a month to keep the battery charged. He stopped driving it about ten years ago when he thought the fuel pump went out. many people tried to buy it, but he never would sell it. I happened to come by on the right day and he sold it to me. After I got it home, I found it had a hole in the fuel pickup tube. I filled it with fuel and it started right up. The odometer was replaced when the Ford dealership replaced the motor and transmission and it now shows 37,000 miles. The only thing that is not original is the wheels and tires, and the radio. I have the original wheels and hub caps.

Welcome!

I love the Galaxie! I drove a 4 door version in high school. The Bronco is nice too! Lol.

I like the rims on your BKO. I have been thinking about changing back to those. I think they were stock on the 79s. Mine rims are mid 90s I have been told.

Lots of good people on this site, Very helpful.

Thanks, I was a car guy long before I was a truck guy. I drove a 71 Mach1 to high school and a 67 fastback trough college and a few years after. Wish I had both back today.

My Bronco came factory with plain steel wheels and hubcaps. I have the original wheels and caps in the shop. I have thought about putting them back on, but They wouldn't stay on if I got in a rough spot off road

This is how you react when you pay $1,000 for a 79 Bronco and all you have to do is fill the tank with fuel and replace the battery lol

I can't get away from green. My high school ride was a green 71 Mach1, and my college, and post college, ride was a green 67 fastback Mustang. Sold them in '85 and '92, and haven't owned a green anything since lol
