the most important thing with in tank fuel pumps, is don't run your truck low on fuel much. If you are constantly getting down to 1/8 tank or less before filling up, then your pump is getting damaged by sucking air alot. when you turn, brake, accelerate your gas will slosh away from the pump and it runs dry for a short amount of time, the happening over and over will destroy one. in about a year if you are a chronic broke person and squeezing around on as little gas as possible.
did that in college, went through about 1 fuel pump a year until someone told me, now I don't let her get below 1/8 tank and haven't burnt up one in the last 6 years...
