Looking for M5OD diagram and pics

OK, before I take the top off my transmission I'd like to see what I'm supposed to find so I can have a better idea of what's good and needs replacement. I'm expecting to see issues with the forks and possibly some missing teeth. But I'm also wondering if there's a gasket between the case and cover and info on anything else I need to know before I take it off. I want to get all the parts I'm probably going to need replacing. I know I'm replacing the plugs on top but not sure about anything else yet. I've tried Googling for images and diagrams and so far have turned up pretty empty.

Bronco Info: 1992 Bronco Custom, 302/5 speed/4x4. pretty much stock.
Mine has literally eaten away half of the fork material on one side of one of the forks. That, some chewed up gears, the pilot bearing eating the snout, bad synchros all over, and some bearings out of tolerance made a new transmission the quicker, cheaper way to go. $975 + $100 shipping.

But don't feel bad. The E4OD guys have to pay $3000 for just a rebuild. :P

1988 Thunderbird Turbo Coupe, 2.3 OHC with turbocharger and intercooler/5 speed, time warp late 80's high speed road trip car/police magnet....
1992 Bronco Custom, 302/5 speed, lots of new stuff
1993 Tempo GL 2-door, 2.3 HSC/5 speed, my first car, probably giving to girlfriend to drive so I can justify keeping it around

Bronco Info: 94 C150 prerunner 351/zf/maf. To many mods to list.
I Went through there m5. Two pairs of forks and a bad sincro. Spent $1000 on a zf never had a problem.

It's not custom if you bought it from a catalog!

Well, I'm actually thinking my M5OD isn't as bad of a transmission as people make it out to be. After all, it was bone dry and got me home. After putting 4qts of Mobil1 ATF in it, it's still going but making some noises I don't particularly care for. The only bad part when the transmission went dry after 84,000 miles was that I had to shift from 1st to 3rd/4th/5th or start off in 2nd and go to 4th/5th. I'm hoping I only need to clean it our a bit and possibly replace the forks when I replace the rubber plugs so it will hold the fluid in. Then I think it will last me a good long while after that.

OK, I popped the top today and didn't find what I was hoping for and also found something that has me very worried and concerned. The forks looked nearly new. The only wear I saw was on the front forks some of the original molding lines were still visible so I'm thinking they are not bad. What has me very concerned is the large front gear in the transmission. There is what looks like a machined flat spot on the gear. Here's the pictures I took.

wear noted on tip of front fork. You can still see some of the line from where it was molded.

Rear Fork. They still look untouched with no wear seen at all.

This is what concerns me. Is this normal? Is there some reason this gear is formed this way or should there be teeth all the way around it?
