Its most likely as TheUnforgiven said, raidus arm bushing. Driving conditions change how intense it is. A badly warped rotor and a bad bushing will make you think the whole thing is about to blow! Brakes draging on a slightly warped rotor will give you a constant vibration. Its directly under your left foot because the closest body mount is there and its transfering through that to the body.
