Great Write-up and very in depth. The only thing i would have to dissagree on is that 96 bronco's werent the only ones that had the signals. My 95 xlt sport has it. One of mine stopped working thats why this thread caught my eye.

What's the 10th digit of your VIN, and what year does your emissions sticker say? Are you absolutely certain the door wasn't swapped on from a '96? Have you ever removed the door panel, or followed the wiring from the door under the dash?

Interesting. Is it possible that a 96 EB doesnt have the signal mirrors. I have never noticed them in my truck, so I just assumed I didnt have them. I will have to go check now. Oh yeah, and good write up Boss!

Nope never swapped. My family is the orginal owner, which my mom bought back in 95 and then passed down to me because i loved it. I know about it because i've gotten compliments on them mostly cuz its on such an older model vehicle. Heck people think its the coolest thing i can roll my back window down with a key. And if im correct my 10th digit is an (S). The emisions sticker, i dont have the faintest clue on that. I'm just upset they discountinued the mirrors so i cant get replacement ones. Mine are faded and i think one stopped working!

The emissions sticker (VECI Label) is under the hood somewhere.

Just as an update, I called the supplier listed in the original post and ordered a black passenger side mirror from them today, 12 June. It's still $250 with shipping included. The guy I spoke to told me it is a factory part. That may have already been mentioned, but I didn't see it.

Curt

P. S. I'll soon have a non-flag mirror in good shape available soon.

Good luck....you can get signals in your mirrors on the cheap though:

I know this is an old post. But my mirror recently fell off the passenger side. Looking for a replacement.

Which part? Whole, glass, or the glass mount (no idea what it is called). Junkyard would be your best bet if you want to be cheap. The glass and mirror assembly can be ordered pretty much anywhere, whether online or in your local parts store, which I doubt they would have one in stock, if you need the mount for the glass you will have to stick with hunting it down in a junkyard, eBay, craigslist, or even somebody here since I doubt that it is something that would be sold new.

Remember with your tailgate windows not working...Clean your plug first!

The mirror is different for those with the signal built in, unless you want to eliminate the signal built in any mirror would work.

Thumbs up

So my curiosity got to me and guess what:

Bad news is the mirror is scratched from some ice I was scrapping and the drivers side doesn't work. I checked the wires and have power. I even switched the wires and nothing...

Guys I've searched and can't find it anywhere. Anyone know what the specs are on the exterior torx bolts tha hold these on? Someone apparently use some spare bolts in the past to install mine and I'd like to install the new ones with the same factory style hardware.
