My name is Jason, and I'm a Broncoholic.

As I just got off work, I'll get this started so I can get some sleep before going back in for another 12 hour night shift.

1st, thanks for the nomination. I'll get you guys plenty of pics during this month. I'm taking a trip to the Kiamitchi Wilderness this weekend, but when I get back, there will be some great pics to show.

This is my 2nd Bronco, may the old one RIP.

A little about my truck. I've had her about 2.5 years now. I had plenty of time to find what I wanted as I had another vehicle to drive. I had to have something that would get my clients to the duck blind. She has the 5.0 with a manual trans and manual transfer case. Seriously cold A/C and great heater, manual windows, locks, mirrors, no power anything except the rear window. She came from the factory with no headliner, no carpet (rubber/vinyl floor) and a bench seat. I got a pretty good deal on it as the guy was told by more than one local mechanic that it needed a new steering gear box. I replaced the leaky pressure hose and that was it. She also needed tires in a bad way so I bought a brand new set of BFG AT 31's.

Here's what she looked like after the 1st week.

She had right at 100k on her. Up until very recently I mainly used her for hunting and scoping out new duck holes. Now, she's my DD.

Vote for "Caitlyn" and me for Sept 2015 FOTM!

After one of our trips to the mountains, I realized lockers are great for getting you really stuck. After winching with my farm jack for nearly 3 hours, I was able to get her home.

Ohhh, I forgot to mention in the 1st post that she has lockers front and rear. That little detail was one of just plain ole luck. The first owner (I am the 3rd) owned a gear and axle shop in Washington. He put lunchboxes in both ends.

Anyhow, I decided I wanted a winch, so I got one. And, I decided that 12k winch needed more power available, so I put in dual batteries, and I decided that since I was adding wiring for dual batteries, why not change all the wires, so I built some 1/0 welding cable battery wires.

My shaded area takes some driving skill to get into...

You can't tell in the pic, but there is a very steep 8 foot embankment at the end of the house. The shed and the house are exactly 8 feet apart.

Here she is with the bumper off getting ready for the winch.

And the finished front shot. Sorry, since I didn't have any help doing the winch, I didn't get a lot of pics of the install.

I used the HF 12k winch and the HF mounting plate. I had to notch the plate in two corners to fit. Then I cut four pieces of 3x3 angle iron about 3 inches each to use as the brackets. This was before I got my big welder.

I think I should have enough pictures for the month. Im at school right now so when I get home I will post more. My dad bought this truck about 3-4 years ago from the original owner with 42,000 miles. rebuilt trans almost perfect interior, brand new pacer wheels and mud tires for 5,500$. He drove it for a year but then had to get a 6.0 excursion for towing, so instead of selling the truck i got it. i have been driving it for about 2 years now and will be a senior in highschool. so far i have rebuilt the 351 and trans. 4"sas, repainted some spots, random interior and exterior mods, and not done yet.

oldest picture i have, only difference from when we bought it is the tires

2nd time off roading, while i had a learners permit

fairly recent

This is the mess I started with. I use a group 27 battery so I can swap batteries between my Bronco, my van, and the tractor.

I built this tray using a bedframe I found on the side of the road.

I had originally planned on orienting the batteries this direction. That plan was bad, real bad. As I closed the hood, it hit the positive post of the battery and welded a nice little hole into the hood frame. Time for plan "B".

I crammed as much of the emission crap as I could under the tray. Some day I'll figure out a way to cram even more under there to clean up under the hood some.

This is the near completed wiring and setup. I catch a lot of grief over my choice of battery connectors, but I used those for a reason. I have the same type terminals on my van and tractor. If I need to borrow a battery to start either one, I undo the wing nuts and I'm off to the races.

Hope you guys are liking everything so far.

My added battery is also a group 27, but has the "R" so the terminals are reversed.

Just woke up and getting ready for work. Thought I'd give y'all something else to chew on.

I went to a local off-road park. It was my 1st time there and not knowing the lay out, I blindly followed my cousin in his extremely decked out Jeep and a Range Rover club. I went on a few trails I was told to park my truck on and ride with someone else. Well, I ended up breaking off my side steps and turned my factory t-case skid into an air dam.

So, here's my custom t-case skid I built using 1/4" A36 plate steel.

Here's a few shots of the building phase of the skid. Here's the supplies, minus the welder. That's my trusty sidekick, Faewen. The truck really belongs to her and I just get to drive it until she grows thumbs.

I used this flat strap to gauge where to make my bends.

My welds got better. If you weld like me, you better have a good grinder.

All in all, it took 11 pieces of metal to make the skid. I used some 1/8" angle to stiffen up the flat side.

All my accent stuff will be neon green as truck continues down the path.

I even bought the Ryobi drill and driver set because of the color. Turned out, they are pretty awesome tools. That driver is worth its weight in gold.

I gotta head to work, I'll post up a some more in the morning before I leave on my trip. I still have to show you guys my custom overhead console (I made). The headliner and a bunch of other goodies, like my mirror mod will be coming, too.

I'm really hoping to see a bunch from Deathmobile as the 78-79 Broncos have always been my favorite. Those trucks just screams Machismo!

this should be a good month!

about a week after i got the truck.

first thing i did with this truck was replacing the entire exhaust, i did this before my learners permit. pacesetter shorty headers, bassani y pipe with cat(fl doesnt require cats but i figured i doesnt hurt to have one) and a flowmaster 44. then i brought it to a shop to bend custom duals.

couple months later i switched to a hooker aerochamber muffler.
(i will explain the window writing later)

first time going off road in citrus wma fl.

so now for more recent stuff.

and some clean pictures

small bronco meet

Ok, I just now uploaded this little video showing the end result of my mirrors. Hopefully this will work as intended.

This is a little video doing some off-roading. This hill is steep. My 10 year old nephew is taping while my dog is panting in the back seat. Make sure to turn your volume up for a good laugh.

This series is from our first meet of DBOR, our local Bronco club. We met up at a car show that had some very high end cars. We felt we needed to class the joint up a little. Got quite a few admiring stares from guys that used to have real trucks.

Seems like we've managed to get four Broncos there at any one time. I've made quite a few changes since these were done too.

I'm getting off here for now to pack up the Bronco for our trip to the mountains. I'll have a whole slew of pics and videos for you guys when I get back Monday morning. Unfortunately for you guys, by design for me, there is no cell service up there.
