Whoa! I wasn't expecting a 2+ month contest, I had better get busy. Once again I find myself facing stiff competition, I will do my best to make it up with LOTS of pictures, wrenching and wheeling.

I start where I left off, my meeting with raleigh (Dave) at the end of the May FOTM contest. Great guy, fun meeting and most of all his Bronco was amazing!

I will recap my journey with the Bronco but try not to be too repetitive from May. As a reminder, here is where it all started:

Just take your time and get the pics you would normally be hustling up about now.
I thought about putting it back and delaying it... but didn't realize my mistake until after I sent out all the PM's and it's already up in the newsletter.
My apologies guys... but look at it this way, MORE BRONCO SHOW-OFF TIME!!!

Yup exactly. The current state is Pro-comp brackets with Deaver 5.5" coils, Rancho radius arms I plated up and stock leafs with a Sky MFG shackle flip and zero-rate blocks. Rides pretty damn good finally. Bilstein 5100s all the way around.

Here is something new since May FOTM, I started tearing apart this $150 parts Bronco and found a near-new front Trac-loc

This got me started on a front diff swap, D50 stub shaft install and tie rod flip.

After getting some great advice here on the forum I decided the clutches looked brand new and just reassembled. Of course I picked up a magnetic drain plug and tapped the diff while it was on the bench:

And might as well wire wheel, prime and paint everything:

The same goes for the shafts from the parts truck. New Spicer joints, wire wheel and paint:

I went to the u-pick-it to scout for a D50 stub shaft and found only 2 in the entire yard. Crazy enough, one of the trucks had the axle shafts pulled and I only had to drop the diff to grab my D50 stub. Pictures don't do this justice. The D50 Shaft is SO much beefier than the D44. They charged me $12 and I found an open box Spicer 1350 joint on Amazon for $9. What an awesome upgrade! I also eliminated the c-clip while I was at it.

Of course while I was at it I welded the cap in the stub shaft and put all new seals in the diff:

bonsai dave, I'm so envious of that truck! My first love was a 76' F-150 and was looking for a 78-79 Bronco for that reason. Maybe I'll find 'the one' someday.

Make sure to post lots of pics, lets see if we can get as many posts, replies and views as last years FOTY!

I am still trying to decide how much stuff to rehash from May but in the meantime, here is a video from a wheeling trip to Crown King, AZ in August. Check out all that TTB flex!

Agree - it's unexpected for me too... But how I can battle with so others Grands? My small rusty horse not withstand so long and hard race :-)))) No chances.

Question: Is it must be difference pics from FOTM race ONLY? Or it can be (or even must be) repeated?

Pics, pics, we need more pics and vids - scraped out and squeezed archives - but BTW, I'll to continue too...

Welcome 95bronco12!

stm, got my new Bronco Driver magazine the other day with your article in it. Were you able to find a copy over there?

So I know I post a lot of photos from Sedona but after 10 years of living here I never grow tired of this place. Hopefully you all won't grow tired of my pics! My buddy and I went down yesterday afternoon and wheeled Broken Arrow again. First time I have had red Bronco there since my 6" lift and 35's. We ran into a trio from the AZ Classic Bronco club and they wouldn't even make eye contact! haha

I don't think there is any concern using old photos. My only thought is that the forum members will appreciate new content even more. It's a great excuse to get out and wheel!
