Got it wrapped up! A few links with the tranny crossmember, but got it worked out. I'll post up some better pics of radius arms and crossmember later. Super motors is slow

I've got a new whistle or squeak while I'm on the accelerator now. Any ideas? I know that's quite vague.

Looking good. What size tires are those?

As far as the squeak or whistle. Did you raise the rear any?? I wonder if the pinion angle is off a little? Or if the gears aren't set to just right.

Yeah, that's a big negative on the dukes moves bro! 6 years ago, 2 MORE kids later... This was just cheaper than a few 4wheelers

35x12.50r15 tires
I replaced the4" leafs with 6" and did a shackle flip. I've Got just under1.75" on my driveline slip. Could that be the noise...to short of splined section in the driveline?
Pinion angle looks great, I'd guess between5-10

WOW those are 35s I would have thought with 9" they would have been lost under there. That is the stance I am looking for with 35/13.50 tires in Iroks. Hmmm 9" AY you could sit up under it to change the oil I bet.

Thanks! You Damn near can sit up under her. I just ordered a oil filter relocation kit from summit. It's kinda screwed the way it is with the Trac bar mount covering the access hole to the filter now.

Which bar mount did you use? Was it the Bronco Air? I did not see it in the pics? I see you did not have to munch up the crossmember which is what I eat to avoid. I like the idea of putting the bar underneath the crossmember rather than in front.

I made my own Trac bar mount, if you go back a ways it's in one of the photos with the lower coil retainers.

I'm wondering if the pinion length is longer on the79 axle? I went to install the front driveline, and it was almost to long. So I moved the front axle forward an inch and it fit fine. And yes I moved the upper spring buckets forward as far as possible when I installed them. And my squeak must be a bushing I'm thinking. It's very intermittent, but still annoying!

They do make different length yokes with different spline counts.

It went pretty straight forward thanks to reading everyone else's threads. Only thing I didn't find enough info on was custom tranny crossmembers, and custom frame end radius arm mounts. I ran into problems in that area, and only having Sundays off to rework things was even more discouraging. Anyone needing or wanting more info in those areas... I'm willing to shoot over some dimensions and details for a self fabbed crossmember with radius arm mounts attached. All in all very rewarding to have her on all for again!

Damn it! Took it out in the mud today to test the 4wheel drive out. First time I've had a day off since I finished it. It's not working. I'm just getting a loud click on the front hub area, no spinning. What the hell? Transfer case? It seemed to work on my bench when I engaged the hubs.... Everything is brand new in this front end too...

This is odd. I did some searching, and maybe I just needed to ease forward a bit after putting the hubs in. I just romped on it and heard the hub trying to engage. I must have been over torquing by just punching it. Going to go try it out.

They seemed to engage fine, no noise up front either. And I can spin the driveline with hubs unlocked, can't with them locked.

Sometimes the heavy grease gets in the ring once the hud and prevents it from engaging until the brake rotor warms things up and the geese finds its way where it needs to be. Work them around some open and closed with the wheel jacked up after driving for a bit, should get it all worked in.
