Swapping in a t19/205 for the c6/205 in my 1978 f150, and running into some problems.
I bought the trans and tcase from a junkyard about 3 hours away, got home and found that the adapter housing on the 205 will not bolt up to the t19. Wondering if anyone else has run into this problem.
I talked with the yard I got it from, and from the measurements I gave them all they could come up with is an aluminum adapter that came on the np208/bw1356 tcases. Would this work?
What parts exactly did you get?
Is the trans a 4wd trans?
Was the transfer case adapter from that trans??
Or did the transfer case adapter come from the 205?

The trans is a 4wd, as it has the trapezoid pattern and not the square. The transfer case had the adapter on it.
I had an idea that there were different adapters between the c6 and manuals, just didnt have any measurements to go off.
Alvin in AZ, I have seen the Novak website. Decided on the t19 for the syncro'd first gear, and ended up getting one with the 4:1 gear as well. Should work well on the street with 33's and 3.50 gears.
Please let us know what length adapter ends up working for you. I would guess it is a T18 adapter (Not NP435)....but I sure would like to have this confirmed.
According to Novak the Ford 2wd and 4wd t18 and t19's have the trapezoidal pattern, its the NP435's that have a square 2wd pattern or trapezoidal 4wd pattern. Also Novak uses the same transfer case adapter for t18/t19 to jeep transfer cases. Make sure your t19 has the output splines that matches the 205.
What's the difference in splines? I believe it has the 31 spline output shaft, and the 205 seemed to match up when I tried putting them together, the bolt holes just didn't line up.
Sorry if my answers are a little vague, the truck is stored about an hour from where I lived currently.
Just wanted to make sure what you had was correct, you have enough problems without getting an adapter and then finding out the splines are wrong LOL. If the adapter is about 3/4" shorter than how far your output shaft protrudes you should be fine.
