Steam it like Jon said. Use one of these things from Target/Walmart/BBB. Throw that in the bottom, add water just up to the base of this contraption, put the artichoke on/in it. Put a lid on the thing and steam it for a while until the meat on the leaves is good & soft. (Rip one off every once in a while to try it. You'll know when it's done.)

Miracle Whip with garlic salt is good as a dip. Or sour cream with salt & pepper. Or...

Nothing is "reasonably" close to Bakersfield except farmland but almost all of us are less than 5 hrs. from it. What do you need?

I was looking at getting a bronco checked out since I can't go there myself and I know nothing regarding mechanics. I'd be willing to compensate for gas, time, etc, but I don't want to inconvenience someone to the extent of a 5 hour drive.

You need to hit up Ed "75F350", jasoncatpenter1 or Jesse "Chromo79" from "THE SHOP" we have done this for Scott79 and Ranger429. I'm working in CO right now and my next 3 weekends are booked but maybe Ed, Jesse or Jason can help.

Well i guess i lied to you guys, im not in Cali:/

My buds dads supposedly had this job all lined up for us, so we drove down there that month or so ago when i talked to a few of you guys. We get down there and all is good, than everyday that went by, he came back on his word of us having a job.

So my buddy took off to Oklahoma and i was stuck there with all my belongings and my feet to walk on. Spent a week or so in hungtington beach with some friends friends, and eventually flew back home. Thought i might still have a job there eventually, it would just take longer than expected, but the whole thing fell through....

So i picked up a job in texas, drove Ruth the ol bronco 2200 miles here, and she didnt skip a beat

But i apologize for crying wolf about moving down there with you guys, was really stoked to wheel and hang out with you all, and i appreciate all the hospitality you showed, youre a great group of people, ended up just being a whole bum situation with what was suppose to happen. one of these days ill get down there to have some beers though for sure.(:
