I have to agree with Steve, the 78-79 is 100 times the truck for wheeling the 80-96 is.

BUT!!!! The 80-96 is a much more well rounded vehicle, for everything including wheeling, for those of us who can't have a fleet of Volkswagons to drive to work everyday

Sold Bronco 2-24-16.... Currently Broncoless for the first time in 27 years

Noobie???? I've been here longer than you

I have 5 78/79's, a 79 F350 Super cab 4x4 & an 89 F350 4x4. I'll be ready to wheel again in the spring. Way too much to do right now. I have to thin the herd.

Hey, Mudman... Are you by any chance getting rid of that 79 F350? My dad's got a 79 F250 Super Cab in really nice shape, but it's not 4WD, and as long as that truck is, it always gets stuck because theres no weight on the rear wheels. So I'm looking for a 78/79 F250 or F350 4X4 that's rusted out, so we can swap in the 4WD

I've seen f250-350's with 4x4 and still get stuck because of the length of the truck. I pulled one out of about a foot of snow last year.
