I really like the looks of these... I think they would match the stock tan interior and leather bench nicely. One question, how do the 5 point harnesses mount? Do they go to the floor or mount directly to the seat? Oh and does anybody else have any input?

Says "Mastercraft Baja RS" right on the seat, there, Captain Obvious.

Stan you can't mount em to the floor. You'd need some kind of bar behind the seats. If you google something like "how to install a 5 point harness" you get a bunch of links. Most were about installing em in sports cars, the info was good.

As soon as I get the money up(and the truck running again) I will definetly be getting the hunsaker seats as the stock seats in my '95 xlt are trashed. Is the listed price in the link what you could get them for or is there a better deal to be had. Don't get me wrong that is an awesome price but it never hurts to ask as most sales prices have some kind of negotiating room.

if anyone wanted to do this comfortably and on the cheap... a good set of Explorer seats, complete with lumbar and all can be scored at the local U-Pull for a whole lot less

I realize it's no comparison, but for broke asses like me and cheap searchers in the future... I know I loved mine and they fit real nice in the Bronco.

FWIW if in a daily driver the hunsakers or mastercrafts (reclining get) my vote, you can floor moutn a5 point harness but if its a daily driver you will likely regret it based on comfort. Your stock belts will work with any of the race type seats. I run beards in mine and while I love them offroad they are a PITA for running around town. Your wallet will always be a pain and the high side bolsters make getting in and out cumbersome.
Find a mastercraft dealer and take soem time to sit in the seats before you buy. All of the ones youa re talking about are good seats. It really ocmes down to what you want and what fits your needs.

Seat choice

Of course this is a Bronco Speed forum. New guys reading the Speed page expect to get serious input - not street machine inputs. Street machine discussions belong in the other pages on FSB.
Some considerations:
If you are building a serious prerunner and expect to have 4/5 point harness then there must be a bar at shoulder height or slightly higher. This eliminates a reclining seat in a Bronco unless you create a special roll hoop that is way behind the seat. Then you would make the rear seat unusable because it will be chest high for a rear passenger.
No problem is you use the stock 3 point belts for a street machine.
Once one decides to have the 4/5 point harness then the tilt Fwd for the passenger seat is worthless since the belts go thru the seat. You can get around then by having the low back seats with the headrest attached to the rollbar extension. This is not workable because the belt attach is still in the way.
Both my Broncos have proper shoulder attach bars and to get in the rear seat one has to climb over the console. Still good for 4 passengers but pretty undesirable for exit/entry to the back.

Suspension seats like Mastercraft or Beard are the safest in the event of a huge hit. Mastercraft sells some internatioal test agency approved seats.

For a street machine any seat of your choice is OK with the 3 point harness.

I will be changing my seat covers to pleather from tweed. It was to easy. With tweed the seats never cleanedup good and were allways dusty. Had a chance prerun in a friends highend truck with the MCs g3 covered in pleather and plastic. Felt good and was very easy when it came to cleanup.

This is a kick ass deal,if you need to get into the back seat there are companys that build seat sliders and tilts for mounting them in baja bugs.look at(pacificcustoms.com) I think a set is only about 80 bucks.
