No I got the chassis exit. I don't really remember why, but if I could do it again i would have gotten fenderwell exit and just had the pipes end in front of the rear tires. That was before I knew I was going to have to chop up my new $200 exhaust piping
haha

Got the engine in the bronco today. All the bellhousing bolts and torque converter nuts are tightened up.. Headers are on, starter is on. I will take pics tomorrow when things are a little more squared away and cleaned up.

Thanks man I appreciate that a lot!
It's been quite a bit of work, and a shat ton of cleaning, but it turned out nice enough for a wheelin truck. Lol
It's a little dirty now from putting it in the truck and touching it, but hopefully I can get her all hooked up and running tonight!
Might even take a video if I do.

I just came in from the garage about a half hour ago. I got a lot more done today. Just about everything on the engine is hooked up and ready to go except the spark plug wires and the battery. Going to get a new ground cable and starter cable tomorrow. After I clean everything up and get everything on I will post pictures. I think most of us can visualize fuel lines and heater hoses etc. being put on, lol.
So that's it for tonight, hopefully fire it up tomorrow night!

She runs!!
well at least she did
I think there might be a hole in the accelerator pump or something because its not squirting fuel like it should. It worked fine, then just didn't. Not sure, going to pull the carb off before work tomorrow and maybe replace the accelerator pump. Something stupid always has to happen
I'm sure it's something stupid and simple. Anyway, it has good oil pressure, and it does run. We had it running for maybe 30 seconds or so, then shut it off and it wouldn't squirt gas, just dribble it in. Here are some installation pics and before and after of the engine.

Congratulations on getting it running. There's no better sound than the engine firing up the first time. It looks great. You really did a good job. My carb had issues so I just put a new one on. She fires right up every time. Enjoying this thread. Keep the pics coming.

Well I figured out the carb problem this morning. The little ball under the accelerator pump fell out of place.. Fixed that and fired her up. Going to warm her up good and tune the carb sometime in the next few days. Also need new tranny lines as they are leaking
Going to route them myself so they aren't so close to the header, that kinds defeats the purpose of the tranny cooler.
Anyway just thought I would update you that it was an easy fix and she runs much better than before.. Lol

Here is a short video of the engine running. This is before any carb or timing adjustments, so its obviously not perfect. lol

Well I'm glad you like the wheels! I keep bugging my dad to put his tires on his other wheels so i can have his... I dont like the elephant on roller skates look on the skinny wheels.

I got the gauges hooked up tonight. I still have to clean everything up and put the dash back in. Will post pics tomorrow!

Well I got the tach and tranny temp gauges finished up tonight. I'm going to drill a hole in the side of the tranny pan and thats where I will put the temp gauge. The tach works good though. I got some pics today of the wiring before i put the dash back together.

I spliced the two light wires together for the two gauges, then tapped them to this dash light power wire.

This is where i grounded the gauges.

Ran the wires and capillary tube through the dash vent.

I found a plug that wasnt hooked to anything and it had power only when the key was on, so I used a pin terminal and plugged it in, then taped it up and fused it.

And there they are!

I put a ring terminal on the green wire from the tach and hooked it to the negative side of the coil.

I haven't updated in a while but I do have one today!!
My dad's boat was in the garage and we were doing stuff to that, so not much time to work on the bronco. But since the last update the bronco has new tranny lines, a custom made battery tray, and.............. New tires!!
I got some 33x13.50x15 Super Swamper LTB's on chrome wagons for $400!
I'd say they have about 80-90% tread and the wheels only have minor rust. Gotta love having family friends with offroad toys too!
Anyway, I will post up some pics of the battery tray tomorrow.
But for today, I have some crappy garage pics of the new vs. old tires and wheels. Hope y'all have a good night!
