I ordered a stock 89 pump and pick up from autozone. When I get back from travel, I will pick it up, measure it and then return it.

When I get all the measurements, etc, I will post up here.

I picked up the stock 89 pump assembly. When lining up the two assemblies, I will not be able to use the stock mounting point as I had planned. It will push the pump too deep into the tank.



So, I cut the pick up to the point that the pump will sit at the correct depth.

Now I need to fab up a support.

I am shelving the in tank approach for this season - it's a lot more involved to make it clean and reliable.

I ordered the Fuel Command Center this morning and that will get me up to speed sooner rather than never......

Started taking inventory of the FiTech install after some cleaning and organizing.

Pretty excited that the factory air cleaner housing will fit without any clearance issues. Almost as if it was designed for this throttle body.







Fits my "sleeper" theme..... if you can call a Bronco on 37's a sleeper.....

Fuel Command Center arrived! A little test fitting to make sure it fits where I want it.

Kids playdo comes in handy. At least a couple inches of clearance.





Had to order a 1/2-20 to AN male fitting to connect the factory fuel pump to the FCC.

Really looking forward to getting this installed and dialed in. I will be taking it in for a custom exhaust as well. I really think the stock 2 barrel was just not enough for the build specs of this motor. Always seem to fade out above 2500 rpm while accelerating on the highway. Off-road no issues beside vapor lock on a really hot day.

Also finally mailed my knuckles to Colorado to a shop that specializes in installing the tapered inserts in the right way. $57 for shipping the cheapest route! They would not fit in a USPS box since they still had the spindle studs and ball joints installed. Should have them back in a week or two.

Deathmobile2 - Multi-Use 1978 Ford Bronco

Mounted the FCC, installed an AN fitting in the fuel pump and ran the low pressure line.

I need some additional fittings and hose to complete the run to the throttle body.







I want to install a 1" phenolic spacer as well.

Summit Clause came today in his big brown sled....

Fancy ARP carb studs installed.

EGR plate on.



Phenolic spacer on - needed to clear EGR valve with the added benefit of cutting down on heat.



Throttle body dropped on.



Everything fits nicely, so off it will all come and get a coat of paint to match the intake.

Also received the rest of the AN fittings needed to plumb this up.

Then on to organizing and looming the wiring.

I hope to have it running within the week. Getting the layout right and then collecting the parts to achieve the layout seems to be the biggest challenge.

I had to send my knuckles out since I did a poor job drilling them out for the Tie Rod Over Knuckle flip. Sent them to a machine shop in Colorado that bored out the holes and pressed in tapered inserts.

Then I can flip her around to replace the shackle bushings and spring perches!

Made up all the fuel lines today. PTFE stainless - no gas vapors or ethanol issues with this stuff.

AN fitting off the stock pump up to a FST fuel filter/water separator. Then over to the FCC. FCC to another filter and then the throttle body.

Ok, all the lines are now tightened up (it has been warm here and the pressure in the tank was pushing the gas up to the pump and leaking out all over the floor), throttle body mounted, started hooking up the wiring.

One thing I need help with is where to tap into a 12v source that only comes on with the ignition switch in the run position.

It is on mine.

The only 3 things I can think of is either your Duraspark module(if my reading is correct, red is switched source), the stator connection at your alternator with a step up regulator or pulling a wire through the firewall. I can't think of anything else in the bay but I'm sure others smarter than me know of some in the loom that you can pull off of.

Your build is so awesome so far, I have considered going with a TBI system if I ever upgrade mine that far!

Just an idiots observation, but will the phenolic spacer disturb the TBI airflow since it only has 2 slots instead of 4 holes for the 'barrels'?

Not sure if it will or not - I could only find the two hole, but after you asked I did another search that turned up a 4 hole..................so, its ordered and I will return the two hole!
