Went to the junkyard today and snagged a drivers seat for the hinge and the seat base, also snagged a tach cluster

Took some pictures of some other cool vehicles there
Nash Airflyte that still runs

Mustang II King Cobra

58 Chrysler Imperial, my dad had one, he always talks about how beautiful the dash was with its purple illumination

Ford N-Series

And back at home, the bronco finally gets a usable drivers seat bolted in

I would have brought home the N dump truck! Almost bought one a couple years ago but let it go.

I have kinda determined that this huge ass bumper needs to come off, I do want a winch bumper but this one is way too big and not very well thought out as it sticks out too far (messes with the angle of attack in a bad way)

Anyway, tonight I worked on getting the valve cover gaskets replaced, At least its cleaner under the valve covers than my other 302

I have never been a fan of battle ship grey, so I'm adding some color.
One side is cleaned and painted, hoping to get the other side tomorrow

went to pull the tstat housing to replace the tstat and to my horror there were just 2 nuts lightly threaded on to what was left of the bolts, and best of all no thermostat present. If I could shoot the previous owner, I would.

Wow, that's just terrible. I honestly cringe at the thought of having to deal with the waterpump/thermostat/manifolds on these engines. I hope you're able to get them out without a ridiculous amount of sweat and blood.

welp
I get my msd cap/rotor, motorcraft plugs are in, waiting on plug wires
I put my new/used radiator and fan shroud in and started filling it with coolant and it started leaking from the thermostat housing, I'm a ford fan, but that lower bolt has so far resulted in plenty of swear words thrown their way, I think I have an idea after looking at aftermarket tstat housings, use allen bolts rather than hex bolts.

got it figured out, tstat fell out of place and was causing the leak.so I used a little bit of rtv around the edges so it would stick to the cover and put it on, allen heads worked a little better but still a major pita

Engine bay is a lot better than it was when I got it, engine is still physically very dirty, running an engine with leaky valve cover gaskets for however long will do that

Heard a ticking coming from under the dash, has whats left of a breathalyzer under there, time to figure out how to take it back to factory

Ha I had one of those for 6mo once upon a time. If its still in there someone is in some good trouble, although I DID hear of one story about one that was spouse required as opposed to state ordered.
