Blew some of,the crud off with e pressure washer. Ford sure did not put much under there for rust prevention. Just some tap and a little bit of primer is about it. Surprisingly the only areas of concern is the rear channel on the ends, all the rest is solid.

Fender wells are totally rust free. Can't decide if I should cut out that wheel well panel and coat with the bed liner behind it and on the back side then rivet it back in or leave it alone. It is the only area I an not going to be able to reach with either a brush or spray gun to paint and coat. I can see where crap would sling off the tires and sit on top of the fender well causing rust. I'll have to think about it I guess, I am leaning toward cutting it out. Then making an access panel out of the piece I remove, then rivet it back in place. I am going to do the same in the rear channel but bolt it together after fabricating a replacement part to fit. Then the susceptible area will be fully sealed and coated.

You asked for it LOL, I actually have done this before. Rebuilt a few trucks and trailers for my dad and a few cars of my own. Undercoat just holds salt in and then eats it away once it gets behind the tar. Rusty Jones was a big company around here for about 30 years, stuff destroyed cars.

Cut open the rear support channel once again really clean on the back side of the quarter but channel had a hole in the end. Just gotta patch it up and primer for the bed liner. I am going to make an access panel so I can coat the inside then bolt a cover over it. Also going to coat the backside of the quarter after primer.

Looks like I am gonna do a roof as Pepe suggested, I had my paint guy look at it and he said replace it. There are some major wrinkles in it from the previous owner that he said woul not be worth trying to fix. So I am going to do my first chop top I guess.

Got all the seam sealer removed, propane torch softened it up enough to peel right off and not even remove the primer.

Found a couple holes in the wiper box, they were small but would have leaked and got bigger quick. Gonna weld them up from the inside of the cab and primer the whole wiper area and drains. The bed liner is the next coat in there after repairs and primer.

Going to use seam sealer to seal the body seams, got some big gaps in the body between the panels. Then the bed liner over that, need to prime first.

To box the rails or to not box the rails, that is the question? Well I am caging it and gotta fix the bung holed body mounts so WTF, I guess get a sheet or 3/16 and weld away. I definetly wanted to do the crumple zone and rail rear of the axle anyhow so what's a few more feet.
