Loving the back side floor and supports, solid as a rock. I am gonna start pressure washing tomorrow, gotta get a new spray jug too for gunk and diesel mix.

Got the primer for the floor and underneath of both body tubs, some weld through primer too. Has a 1 year recoat time without having sanding and can go over existing paint with a scuff. The weld through primer can is much heavier in weight than the Eastwood brand I had before for the same size can, that tells me there is more heavy zinc in the mix. All is Sherwin Williams brand commercial stuff for structural and ship building salt water applications so it should hold up well.

Obviously in 78 tar undercoat was not the thing, this stuff is a enamel based goo. Paint stripper takes it off eventually.

It's bubbling up after a bit of sitting, if I ever want to take off my tattoos I know what to use now. Aircraft stripper is some nasty chit Meh.

Apparently the tub is galvanized, my Comet was too. Does not rust after stripping and pressure washing, it's been sitting a hour drying and no rust on the surface.

I just do a little at a time, the combination of tar, sealer, and paint has been tough to remove. I am finally down to just a few spots but cash is running thin so the project has kinda stalled. I am hoping to finish removing the seam sealer on the drivers side today and tilt the body the other way. That way I can cut the other quarter off and start clean up of the places I have not been able to reach yet.

I made a skid for my 91 body tub, it was a really nasty job. It has tar undercoat underneath and greasy nasty scuz everywhere. Here is a link to how I cleaned that one up. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/dou-d6512/overview/

I understand the thought of postponing your appointment but it is not likely to change by the time your appointment is rescheduled for unfortunately.

The place where I am going is right in the hot bed of downtown Chicago, there have been beat downs and robberies in that area for the last few weeks and now protester rallies on top of it. Not a good time to be in the epicenter of downtown Chicago right now, something is gonna give and havoc is going to break loose any day now. The hospital I go to is right across the street from Water Tower Place in Chicago, if something goes down it will be in that area.

Well knowing this now I defiantly agree with you. I would also look into a new doctor if there is another one out there or request house call

Worked on cleaning up behind the quarter after cutting it off. Flipped,it,around,to get,the back side of the supports also. Kinda frustrating to see all the work remaining to do, this side apparently the factory worker was way more liberal with the sealer.

The stuff is super thick on this side, gonna take a few coats of stripper to get that stuff off. I would wire wheel it but I want to leave all the corrosion inhibitor on that I can.
