Orange I'm glad build.

Figured since I now own two FSBs I would separate my progress on each as I go. This Bronco has been owned by y friends since I met him 20 some years ago. I have been joking with him since then to take care of my Bronco as one day I would own it for all this time. Now ironically I will be taking posset ion of it soon. One day when I went to his house he had a for sale sign in the window, in some ways I was crushed as I am in the middle of my Brick Nose 91 build currently. I would have purchased his truck instead and would have already completed the restoration with all I have currently invested in the 91. But being a friend and buying previous vehicles from him on payments we came to an agreement on a price and payment schedule. So the project begins, once I have fulfilled our handshake agreement I will take possetion of the Bronco that started my obsession with early Ford trucks. My strategy is a restoration with basic modifications to the engine for drivability and some basic drivetrain upgrades. Most mechanical work has already been completed as he is a mechanic and a bodyman. The body has issues with rust in the floor that I am going to address and a few other less drastic repairs that need to be done.

Has A/C, cruise controll, and 351 Modified. Everything is original and complete, the engine, transmission, steering box, driveshafts, brakes, axles, springs and exhaust manifolds have been rebuilt or replaced in the last five years.

More of a money issue than time, my girlfriend and I are both on disability. The 78 will be my driver till the brick nose is done, going to collect what I need for the 78 and do minor repairs till I get another driver.

Yup new bench but that's going in my dads super duty 2005, got a set of original bench seats already from a 78 JY Bronco. Just picked up another tub from Arkansas was gonna just use the floor but instead I am gonna hang new quarters on it and call that it. Heading home now after a long BS session with my new Bronco buddy 78Broncoowner, awesome dude!! Hooked me up big time. Now for the drive back to Illinois, damn I miss the south Arkansas was a beauty to behold!

The 48 hours of Bronco Lemans LOL. Woke up on Friday at 7:00 to get ready for the trip, change the oil on five vehicles and a tractor. Got so hot I went in to chill for a while and had some lunch. Went back out later around 4:00 and cleaned up the mess I left outside along with the 25 gallons of oil I had to deliver to my buddies house to dump in his recycle tank. Watched Animal House for the five hundredth time in my life thinking I would fall asleep but still laughed my ass off, NO I WAS NOT STONED. By then it was 9:00PM, screw it lets go I said to Jill and off we went. Drove strait through to Arkansas and now I remember why I miss the south so much, the landscape is awe inspiring, arrived about 10:00 after stopping for some good old southern chow in a local diner. Loaded up and talked talked everyone's ears off till they were about to throw me out, and headed back north crying the whole way I had to go back to a dirt covered crap hole. There were so damn many clean old vehicles sitting in yards it was killing me, I remember the same when I lived or worked in the south before. Got in at 2:00AM this morning and slept till 9:00, gotta go outside and gawk at my clean Texas body tub, Yipppe!

I don't think Bondo is gonna fix that LOL. Gonna need new quarters but the good news is the internal panels are not crunched and NO RUST anywhere.

Floor is super nice and solid, channels are spotless, even the usual rear body channel rot is not present it is totally solid. There is a couple small miniscule holes in the front floor, not sure why, maybe something was spilled in the carpet that ate a small hole in the floor? But anyhow super easy fix, I am going to buy the front floor pans and cut out what I need to to make it look factory rather that just patch over it.

Firewall and cab mounts solid as a rock, the seam sealer is totally toast as expected but with how crusty it is it will just flake off. I am thinking soda blast but haven't decided yet, either way I am going down to bare metal on this one.

More body tub under side, perfect, just needs the clay and tar scuz removed from the southern trails. Once again solid as a rock, most it's life was spent in Texas it would appear..
