33X12.50 s on a stock 78?

So I got the tires and wagon wheels from my 91 that are in decent shape and was wondering if I can stuff them under my 78 when I bring it home next week? They rubbed on my 91 but the 78 looks like it has more room. I know this has been gone over before but could not find a thread on tire size when I did a search. Also how much backspace will it clear? I am thinking the backspace on the wheels I have might be too much as they rubbed the radius arms profusely on the 91 when I drove it home.

I think these are 4.5 or so but I'll have to measure them up.

Any more the 3.25 they would have to be 16's or 17's or they will hit .. The rear would be no problem.

Hmmm 3.5 looks like the wheels will work but I do not want to eat my sheet metal or slash my tires, they are like new Goodyears. Some moron put Rhino liner on them though, that's gonna be fun to get off.

Looks a little close in front but I have brand new Moog variable rate load leveler for a plow in front. My wheels are 9" wide bead to bead on X 15". I plan on using the truck till I get the 91 done so it will see some trail use.

I've never taken my plow out on the trail.

Those SSR's are about as wide as any 12.5 made, afaict but I've never taken her rig out to test major trail flex.

He put the springs in last winter and we had no snow so they sit pretty high. The truck is level front to rear, no front dive at all. I do have to do something tire wise as the ones on it are really lame highway tires about the size of a car tire.

I've had 33 x12.50 on 15x10 and 15x8 wheels for years on my stock '78 with no rubbing.
I lifted the truck 4 inch last week, the 33 look almost tiny now.

Yeah it looks like I'll be OK at least for now, I might give her a little lift but not much as I want to daily drive it and need to get in parking garages. Another reason for the bigger tires is the truck is spinning pretty good at 60 MPH and I would like to be able to drive on the highway.

My truck came with 33x12.5s on what appear to be stock 15x8s and I have no rub. Then again, there's also no tread left... but even at full tread it doesn't look like it would be an issue.
