Before I continue, I would like to explain that I am doing the following repairs before removing the tub in order to maintain proper support of the cab structure. I had feared that trying to remove it off of the frame while in this current status would result in unwanted twisting of the tub.
I did not get any pics of the fabrication process other than this one of the inner rocker panel:
In the picture below you will notice that once the rusty old repairs were removed there really was nothing to work with or from:
I was certainly glad I had the passenger side to work from, I was able to do this:
