Super Duty np 271 transfer case

Any one ever put an np271 superduty transfer case behind a 80-96 truck? Im gonna try this in my 95 f150 with a 351 and a 4r70w trans. I got the idea from Trevor at WFO and was just wondering if anyone has ever tried this before?

I just want to know why.... its a 2.71:1 low gear, your low range now is a 2.69. Granted its a little beefier of a chain driven tcase, but your replace a chain case with a chain case, at the same gear ratio.

IMO, if you're looking for strength, go with np205, or shit even a 203. what is your reasoning behind the 271? Sounds like you're putting it in just b/c its there.

I have a 205 but I am not a fan of the low range or the amount of fab to swap it in. It is not installed in my truck now. I have an electric 1356 in my tuck now. I for sure want to eliminate the slip yoke 1356. I thought a beefy np271 would be the best of both worlds, strength and good low range. I am also considiring just getting a fixed yoke 1356 and putting it in. I just want to know if anyone has done this swap? Let me know your opinions on this topic? 1356 fixed yoke, np 271 super duty case, or np 205?

I've never pulled mine off, but I've heard the superdutys have a different bolt pattern?

I know a lot of truck pullers have switched to the SD case from a np205 because they are a lot stronger and easier to come by.

86 F350 XLT Lariat 4x4, power everything, AC, C6, 3.55, 265/75R16 STT on 16x8 Mojave's.

97 F350 XLT 4x4, 7.3, built E4OD, AFE Big Boost, GTP38R, IC, 17 HPOP, bellowed up pipes, efuel, 120v IDM, 160/100's, PHP Phoenix, 4" MBRP, 305/70R16 STT on 16x10 Eagles, over 400/800 to the wheels.
