Arrow Official Seat Thread: Let's talk seats & seat covers -->

I don't see many threads on seats, style of seats, seat covers, etc - so, let's make this the official thread on "Seats & Seat Covers for your Bronco".

If you are using aftermarket seats, post up what brand, price paid, where you purchased them and what your overall thoughts are about them.

If you are using a different set of OEM Ford, GM, GMC, Chevy, European, Asian, German or "other" type of seats from another vehicle other than a Bronco, post up pics and your overall thoughts about them.

~~~~
For the above (2) - if you had to modify your existing Bronco seat brackets, modify the undersides of the seats or make new seat brackets for those above mentioned possible seat styles/types, please post up the procedure, parts or how you went about mounting those seats in a Bronco.
~~~~

If you have retained your original Bronco seats, but are using seat covers, post up pics, brand of seat covers, price paid, where you purchased the seat covers and your overall thoughts after using them.

~~~~
I figure many of us use our Broncos for daily driving, highway use, trail use, mudding, half-time 4x4ing, rock climbing, traveling extended distances, trailering items, etc. Some folks may be looking for some different seats to use in their rigs which will be either more comfortable or be more suitable to their Bronco's use and their needs.
Let's get this thread going!
Good thread idea! Maybe I could add something?
I'm interested in adding a small middle seat that folds down into an armrest like late model trucks. Anyone done this???
great idea,
I have been looking for front seat brackets for about 2 months now, and with the lack of bronco's/brackets in the local yards, I patiently wait and watch to see if anyone close has some for sale...
I have wondered what other brackets may work,,
I will be installing PRp seats onto the brackets temporarily until i get the cage built...
but for now,, the bronco sits,, (except for the occasional trip out of the driveway, with me sitting on the floor, looking over the dash like a 90yr old granny on sunday)
SteveG, do you make it to San Diego Occasionally?
Do we need an "official seat thread". Shouldnt this read "how to perform a search for the word "seat" I'm pretty sure almost every aspect of "seat" has been brought up. Should more clarification be needed, i think someone could simply post in one of the existing threads.
I could never come up with some decent stock seats for my EB. So I thought I would go after market, but, that was really too much cash..for me..I thought that would be the last resort..
so I came across these I30 Ifinity seats, $125 for two,a place in KC has a butt load of them in their attic space...must be like 20 diff. sets, leather, had to do a little mod. , ...basically had to buy two pieces of plate steal 2"x1/8"x48", ..but they work great, electric too....
Does the back seat move at all? I have the front bench and keep it pushed all the way back and I still feel I am right on top of the steering wheel. What's worse is that I am relativley short at 5'8".
ill add my 2 cent...
i did the bench to bucket swap a month ago. the bench seat mounting holes are not the same for the buckets. the holes are there for the buckets however, under the carpet/vinyl. the holes do not have threads in them, you have to tap them. after that they bolt right in, but you will have a stud still there on each side of the truck where the bench used to mount.
I got my seat covers custom made at my local swapmeet. 20 bucks for the front and 20 for the back and they threw in a custom dash cover. All the same color and material. I just didn't like the original black leather seats, to hot in the Cali sun. They are nice because you can pull them off to wash them.
Sliding rear windows, GT roll bar, Cargo net and looking for other rare options. 4.10 gears LSD 33" MTs First ever Stock Fullsize of the Month...
Here are mine. They are a nylon type material made by Sadleman. It has pockets everywhere and is very handy. There were $35 a piece. The stitching is pretty shitty and has busted in a few places. Not bad overall. Big upgrade from the stock seats. The guy that owned it before me treated the interior like crap. You can see a nice big stain in the carpet on the bottom of the pic. They make one to match the bench as well, but the place I bought them at didn't carry the same color in the bench variety.
i'm running 2002 Toyota Celica seats. i just welded a flat bar from one rail to other and bolted it to the old factory mounts. Whats also good is the passenger side seat will tilt and slide for easy access to the rear seats.
I rebuilt the foam in my 86' Eddie Bauer seats
It gets rid of the toilet feel they get as they age (your @$$ touches the sides, but not the middle).
for next to nuthin' and they feel great now. All it cost me was a box full of hog rings and a pair of hog ring pliers, some 1" foam and the special non-melting spray can of foam rubber adhesive.
Cut the hog rings and remove the seat bottom covers. Cut the center piece for foam, then the side bolsters, spray them and the original seat foam, wait 4 minutes and stick em on. After that pull the covers back over and install the new hog rings.
While you're in there, tighten all bolts, especially the floor and track to seat bolts.
I did this not just cause' Iz cheap, but also because precious few other seats out there are as large or have armrests.
Dirt cheap, damned easy and darned effective
I just went to Wal-Mart and bought the $16 seat covers. They're a little like Doba's, but the bungee cords are on the back and there are pockets going up the sides of the seat and around the bottom, I think there are something like 12 pockets on each seat-cover.
They sure do beat the duct-tape upolstery that was in it when I got it.
How come the federal government, dispite employing millions of bright people, still displays the collective intelligence of a squeegee?
