Hey Gang, how about we plan a run down to Baja? We could do a weekend run down to San Quintin, it would be about 140 miles of offroad fun on the coast! Great views, go fast, and relax at the Old Mill down in San Quintin.

this trip is easily doable on a sat/sun. Meet at the border at say 8:00am, be on the trail at about 10, and be kicking back at the old mill about 4:00pm. The return trip could be all highway to make it back early, or we could throw in a small portion of dirt.

Let me know what you all think, here's some pics to entice!

Broken not trying to hijack but I think that would be a cool trip, not one I could make right now though. Maybe we could plan on getting everyone together for the poker run in Barstow in the fall??? Or one of the cleanups??? My bronco is not built as much as some of the others but I would like to see them come out in force to a few events. I think it would be pretty cool to see all of our broncos get together for some fun. Great idea I hope the baja trip gets some takers. One of these days I will get there.

I would love to make a weekend Baja run, but I want to wait until my Bronco is back totgether and take it. Maybe we can plan it in Mid September.

I would be down for that in September sometime Nick. Unfortunately I've gotta get some things fixed on the Bronco right now.

Edit: Yeah, what gunit said. :toothless

I'd need alot of notice for something like that.

Its a long drive, but one I think would be worth it.

The family and I would be all over this,

besides, there is a great taco stand in erindera that is a must stop,,
and a weekend trip would be much needed about that time...

Wow, a wheeling trip that I don't have to drive NORTH for. I'm not really set up for Baja speed. I will try to bring up the rear. :rockon

Sounds cool, but I wouldn't be able togo until after the 1000. That month we plan on testing and dont want togo farther than Ocotillo/Plaster city since Im sure we'll have some bugs to work out.

What will we do with the non-Spanish speakers?

We will skin them alive, make them watch us as we destroy their trucks in a destruction derby then BBQ them and make tacos. Oh, and we'll drink their beer too hahahaha!

Please don't kill the messenger, these are not my words!

I don't know if I'll be able to make it, but I'd like to try one of the Barstow poker runs.

I say start a new thread and try to get a group out there.

I think a Baja trip would be great but August and Sept. is my busiest time at work.:banghead but who knows maybe I can sneek off for an extra couple days.;) As we get closer I'll see whats up. Not to hijack this thread but there is a Pismo Gathering being planned for August I think by the west coast chapter. Might be a good place to debate the merrits of TBB I'm going to try and make that for sure.

Well, I dont think the Navy would let me drive 1400 miles for a "long weekend"...

Neither will my bank...

by the way,

maybe this is a repost, still it might be useful for some of you..

this is a link to one of the most detailed baja california map.

besides the obvious main roads, it shows many country roads (yes, where the score baja races use) and many more..

http://dgp.sct.gob.mx/fileadmin/Atlas/bajacalifornian.pdf

let it open in your browser and then save as...

...and if any of you guys want the map of another mex state (sonora?) i can look for it...

No sweeps heading that way anytime soon... besides, on a sweep, it would take 1 year to get there.... hahahaha
