What? Broncospeed Baja Bash.

Where? Baja California Mexico. We'll be doing about 140 miles off road from Santo thomas to San Quintin. Meeting spot to be determined.

When? October 6-7 2007

Who? Anyone that wants to go! This run will be stocker freindly, so don't be affraid!

What to bring? Whatever tools/supplies you think you will need to make repairs.

Recovery gear.

At minimum a cb radio, race radio would be preferred.

Fuel will be plentiful no reason to bring any cans.

Mexico insurrance, we can get it before the border crossing, i prefer AAA but the choice is yours.

AAA Baja map.

California or whatever state you are from drivers liscence, or birth certificate (passports are not required till 08)

Bottled water! You know what they say about drinking water in mexico:uke:

Bags of goodies i;e candy/gum or steekers. The kids dig steekers, but also enjoy candy. I just like taking stuff for the kids down there.


Those are the basics, there will be plenty of places to get food along the way, and there is a nice resturaunt/bar in San Quintin.

I need a head count in the next month in order to make reservations at the old mill. Most rooms are double occupancy, the rest are 4 per room, and a dorm room. So please tell me how many are in your party. I need to stress that i will need a head count as soon as possible! The old mill fills up fast.

There has been a date change! We will be going the weekend of october 6-7.

Hey guys I'm a "Maybe" for this trip since I'm going down to Baja for the 1000 and I'm not sure how much time I can get off. Though it sounds like a good time to me. If I go, I'll be taken the daily driver Bronco and it's pretty much stock so not sure if I'll be able to hang with you guys.

Sounds like it should be a blast I really want in but i cant say yet about to start a new job so we'll see if scheduling will allow it. Man i wish i knew if i could go right now.

Damn Nick, I want to go down with you guys but just can't swing it so close to the Baja mil. I've got Autofab motor & tranny mounts to get in along with replacing the baked tranny in my ride. Tons of other prep to make sure its ready. The VORRA short course races start at the end of September and run every other weekend up by Sacramento and I want to see them too. I know you guys will have a blast. Have a couple tacos for me.

I'm all for re-scheduling this trip so that more can make it! It would be cool to get a whole mob of broncos going down there together!

i like this idea. settle on a date and i will do what i can to show up and teach you a thing or two about big dumb rock tractors that go kinda fast.

How many days total will this trip be?

it takes about a day to get there and a day to get back if you start and end in ensenada, the closest big city to santo tomas. it would be cool to stop and stay at cuatras casas if there are any surfers/skaters in the group.

Glad to see you guys are interested! the trip has been postponed for now, we are looking at some different dates at this time, one that stands out is for early march. Throw some dates ot that work for you guys so we can see if they work for the rest of the group.

Like Andy said, this is easily done in a weekend, barring any breakdowns, or other emergencies. Hitting up quatro casas would be cool, but i have to say that i am gearing this trip to be more family oriented. If the group wants to split, at some point that's fine by me, i think that Andy sorta knows his way around that area.

So anyways, throw some dates out, and stay tuned for a final decision.

I will be in san felipe from the 12th to 20th. petes camp poker run is on the 13th. if any one is intreseded let me know. As far as march for a baja run, lets prerun the baja 250. maybe camp out some where or go back to ensanada. Our team preruns both weekends before the race and the thurs/fri of race weekend. We allways have a great time (we have 2 broncos and a newer 4 seater) if your bronco is up to the task Let me know, your more than welcome to come along.

Nick seems to be MIA. I PM'd him a few days back and haven't received a reply, which is unusual. Hope all is well. In our last conversation, he was still planning a mid December weekender down there. Hopefully he'll chime-in in the next few days.
