drj777 08-13-2007, 06:00 PM ...ahhh the evening finally comes out...
it was about 112 degrees earlier that afternoon - and still around 100 @ dusk...
http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e68/drj777/07%20MDR%20200/_U2K8428.jpg
about 9pm - we got a call that car 1453 has had a rollover & needs assistance somewhere between PIT B and C - (that put them about 10-15 miles away from us)....so we threw everything in the back & made a bee-line for to them.
now - trying to stay off the course in the dark AND with my GPS dead - is to say the least - TRICKY:shocked)
naturally we got a little a turned around but after a wild trailblazing ride across the desert - we found them to be uninjured with a busted front wheel...and a dead radio.
apparently the wheel rolled off the car - the spindle dug in & they got tossed.
http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e68/drj777/07%20MDR%20200/_U2K8434.jpg
and although we could only try to help them find their wheel till their chase team arrived - they seemed to appreciate the offer of an ice cold HEINY - courtesy of ROVER 7 (thats me!)
http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e68/drj777/07%20MDR%20200/_U2K8433.jpg
http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e68/drj777/07%20MDR%20200/_U2K8435.jpg
after a bit - there was an small armada of their pals on scene to make sure they were be gonna ok...so back to the job of roving we went.
almost done!
drj
drj777 08-13-2007, 06:10 PM later we discovered a TJ chase vehicle with a busted driveshaft - (help on the way for them) and a few more miles up the road was car 169 dead & in need of a TIG WELDER...(cant help there either) - but - we relayed the call to base with their status - and once again ROVER 7 to the rescue with a couple of ice cold HEINYs - which were VERY appreciated.
http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e68/drj777/07%20MDR%20200/_U2K8442.jpg
it was close to midnight now - still about 95 degrees and ROVER 7 had been out there for close to 12 hours (and awake for about 18)...so - getting low on fuel - with myself and my co-driver near exhaustion (4 hours of sleep - 350 miles of driving) - it was time to head back home...
i love it when my girl is DIRTY!!!

I'm sure the stealership charged you a pretty penny for those "No Fear" Bilsteins.
drj777 08-13-2007, 08:19 PM I'm sure the stealership charged you a pretty penny for those "No Fear" Bilsteins.
nah.
shes came with the factory 'BLACKIES' and i ripped those out about 24 hours after i took her home.:chili:
and the 'no fear' junk amounts to a few badges - the glass - and cobra seats - kinda like a base saleen - just lipstick and rouge. all the REAL good stuff i added myself. i keep meanin' to rip those emblems off - and then i realize - i dont care.

drj777 08-14-2007, 03:18 PM what cha got on the supa crew?motor, suspesion, etc.
just a detroit / 4.56s / icom v8000 radio / cb / flowmaster with a 3" turndown (i hate 6 ft tailpipes) and bilsteins (im pretty sure ive smoked the front two already) - the boot on the right one is FUSED to the shock...
the rears are bilstein 5100s and those are just about bulletproof - so far!
so until i can spend the $$ for a proper long travel kit up front - the options are...
#1 - bilstein will revalve the front stock height shocks for me - (stiffer) - but i think overheating is the problem there.
#2 - O.R.W. can order me a set of FOX shocks - valved stiffer WITH a bypass (for heat) that is only slightly bigger and will fit up front with only a new shock mount welded in...for a few hundred bucks - as opposed to 5-10k for a proper L.T. setup.
i have to say - that she runs really well with the crap i have right now - and with that FOX setup it would be more than sufficient until theres a lot more $$ in the budget.
i mean - i REALLY beat on it and am continually surprised by how well she performs - as is.
