hub problemscmprice 08-19-2007, 02:35 PM well my front passanger side squeeks..(wheel bearings) so i found out how the grease got washed out the other day.. i was just messing around and grabbed the hub cap part...( the silve case ) and it moves around ...it has all the bolts in it but its kinda loose...? anyone know whats up with this? matt4068 08-19-2007, 05:18 PM were all the hub bolts[allen head's] tight? if not tighten them and re-inspect, if so, id take it apart, and inspect all the hub peices to see if you can see any defects. cmprice 08-20-2007, 03:09 PM theyre all tight... i took the cap off and the piece they screw into moves around.. theres a lot of grease so i couldnt tell or wouldnt know what to look for... matt4068 08-20-2007, 08:33 PM the peice that the outer hex head bolts, bolt in to should have splines on the outside of it. if i were you i would remove the hub completely clean it all with brake cleaner and inspect all the parts.... ill try and find a tech write up about these matt4068 08-21-2007, 07:31 PM http://fullsizebronco.com/forum/showthread.php?t=39861&highlight=Manual+hub this is the best write-up i could find with the best pictures to compare your hub parts with for the condition of them.. | |
