Who's going down for the Baja 1000? I'm heading down and will be chasing for Raffo Racing. I hope to see some of you guys/gals down there. If you plan to head South, let me know.

Can you feel the love?? Reminds me of my family reunions. All I need now is for my mom to smack me with her chancla. She was like a ninja with those sandals. You lat-no brothers know what I'm talking about.

I wouldn't miss it. I'll be hanging out somewhere with the crew from Autofab. Taking 2 weeks off work so I can spend a few more days down there. I wish Sal would release a course map so plans could be firmed up.

Im going down but havent figured out who with, either with Ray Files 1600 car or JD fab's class 8 truck. Hoping the Bronco will be done in time to chase/pre run but its been a busy month and hot as hell, our goal of testing will not happen by Labor day so were pushing to the end of Sept.:doh0715:

The closer we get to the 1000, lets talk about departure dates for anyone who would like to caravan it down. I'm coming from Los Angeles but not sure what day I'm leaving. I'll have a more solid game plan the closer to the race.

Right now I'm planning on heading down to San Diego the week before the race. Spend the week putting in my new transmission and finish preping the Bronco. We'll be crossing at TJ about 9am on Monday the 12th. Hang out for contingency and head out from there to find our spot to watch.:chili: Not sure of where yet. Heard talk of LA Bay but might be to far for some in the group. :shrug I wish it was going thru or near San Felipe but once again disapointed.:banghead

lookin' @ the calendar...my "A" plan is to try to cross the border @ tecate around dawn on the 12th...that should give me the next day or so to get down to the bay of l.a. before wednesday.:rockon

however - i am considering my "B" plan which is crossing @ t.j. (also early on the 12th) and gettin down somewhere near catavina...

the more the merrier - so if theres some semblance of a route that we can all agree on - we'll be that much safer. :thumbup

ive done it alone before - but its way better with more rigs!!:beer

It looks like I'll be hanging out around race mile 45-50 near Tres Hermanos for the race.:drinkbud A couple people in our group have to be back to work on Weds. so can't go to far south. :shrug At least we'll see most everyone, not much attrition in the first 50 miles and all in the daylight too. We'll be heading out there tues. after contingency. I can't wait.:chili:

I'll have the weatherman stream on at work and will be listening at home. There's nothing cooler than staying up till 2am to hear who the first wheeled car cross the finish line!

Well... maybe actually being in Baja would be better.

Hey guys,

Any one know of a good place to camp down in Bay of LA? I'm heading down chasing for Raffo but just in case I have any trouble finding the house we are crashing at I want to have a back up plan.
