Well folks, with the Baja mil close, and peoples rigs broken down (including mine), we are going to postpone the Baja trip. Please throw out some dates that work, and hopefully we can pick a date that works for the majority.

That would be cool Ollie. It's just that, initially there was a lot of interest in a baja trip, but when we try to finalize trip plans everyone disappears.

I don't want to push for a baja trip if the majority is against it. Lucerne, Barstow, or Pismo would be fine with me. I just want to get a group of desert rats together!

I'm down for a closer trip. Though my stocker may not keep up with you guys, I'm still down for a local desert trip.

johnson valley is always nice...plenty of room - lots of places to camp and play...relatively central to most folks.

ocotillo or truck heaven isnt bad either - and still close...but the chance for MORE people than j.v.

although - a little time @ 'petes camp' on the beach in san felipe is pretty nice too...plenty of places to play - swim in the ocean...plus - showers AND margaritas walking distance from your tent!!:drinkbud

i guess it comes down to how long?

I'm down for San Felipe but not too sure on a December trip. I can make San Felipe in 11 hours from my house so those of you in the southland could make it a quick weekend thing.

we can do part of the baja250 course..
san flippy is made of sandy washes and rocky trails = tire eaters (bring your spares!!)...

the matomi wash, el chinero woops sections are nice

Geez Nick I don't think a December date will work for me with just getting back from the Baja mil and then Christmas and New Years holidays. Maybe January?

I thought about this all day and for the life of me I don't see myself making more than the one planned trip down for the Baja 1000 this year. I do plan to take off of work for the week of Thanksgiving after the race. How about if we all meet up down there after the race and hang out for a few days? My second thought, and it might need a new thread, was how about a get together in the days leading up to the Baja 250 in March. We could pre run some and maybe pool or resourses and set up a pit for class 3 trucks or something.

I think it would be a lot of fun especially if its back in San Felipe again where it belongs. As far as the 1000 goes I'm planning on being down there for 8 to 10 days just screwing around.
