There seems to be a lot of interest in a group camping trip to Pismo/Oceano Dunes. I'm going to try to head this up... this time I'll assume the host position instead of dodging it & try to do a better job:toothless

I'd like to get some suggestions on dates. If it's easier we can try to narrow it down to a certain month and adjust from there. I realize a lot of people are going to need time to prepare for and recover from the 1000, so this doesn't have to happen in the near future, I just want to get something rolling so we can plan early and get a good turn out.

What's everyone's preference on camping? On the dunes or off in an actual campground?

Lastly, what are you guys shooting for... a family friendly trip or a more adult trip? I'm in full-on Dad mode with a 4 year old and a 1 year old that are both camping friendly, so a I'm up for a family trip but I'm also OK with them staying home or only coming out during the day.

Anything else you guys can think of?

Count me in. October would be OK for me and the weather there should be good still. As far as a family trip or a party trip thats up to the majority. I can play well with both. Thanks for starting this Steve. I had so much fun on the last trip I'm ready to do it again. I think I'd prefer camping on the beach.

Since I'm local to Pismo, I am pretty flexible. Seems like between now and Nov, the dunes are pretty decent weather wise.

My wife would be up for bringing our 3 boys by during the day if it's more family oriented. If it's more adult, then probably just me and my brother will show up. But again, I'm flexible and will watch this thread for dates. :popc1:

The end of october sounds good! I'll be bringing the family, and where ever you guys want to camp is fine with me, i'll be bringing a small pop-up trailer.

We could do a trip in October and one in January or February. I can't do the last weekend in October, but as of now all the other weekends are open for me.

Rick I asked John about coming and he said he sounded really interested, so next time you talk to him you need to bug him about it too.

Where's Ollie? When is good for you?

I like the idea of two gatherings. I think I can do just about any weekend in October. The Jan. Feb dates not to sure. I usually go to the Oregon dunes begin of Febuary with my brother's family (quad riders) Maybe if its earlier in January.

If anyone is interested in a Oregon dunes trip chime in. I'll post something when my bro confirms the dates.

Steve, I'll call John and see if he can come up and what works best for him. That would be cool if he can come. I wonder how is engine swap in his Ranger is coming?

So it looks like we're planning two trips? Maybe a smaller trip in October then a big trip in January or February?

Nick suggested the weekend of October 19 through 21. How does that work for everyone else?

I would be interested in joing you guys (for either/both trips) but I cant guarantee anything just yet. Might I suggest you post in the West Coast Chapter forum as well, as there are probably a lot of people in there that dont check the Bronco Speed forum regularly, if ever. Personally I like to camp on the dunes, but Im young and stoopid so I can see the argument for the campground too. But since I may not even be going my opinion is pretty worthless isnt it? :toothless

Oct. 20-21 is looking good so far. Who else is up for that date?

I meant to post this in the West Coast section but forgot. I'll do it now.

EDIT: I'll wait to post after we set the date.

hey I might join you guys. Though I'll be cruising my stocker 1995 Bronco so I maybe have to stay closer to camp.

Awesome, we'd love to have you. There's no need to stay close to camp. A stock Bronco is more than capable of driving all over the dunes.

October 20-21.... Going once, going twice SOLD!

Unless I get any objections tonight I'll start a new thread here and in the West Coast section.
