01-02-2004, 03:20 PM
The first time I shot it at the range it nearly took my arm off, and that was only shooting 2-3/4 rifled slugs. I shot only 20 rounds and my shoulder was purple and other assorted colors for 2 weeks. I can't imagine shooting the 3 or higher magnum loads. I've since ordered the internal recoil reducer, and won't use it until that gets in. Scary.

It's a 94-30-30. If that's the one you have... keep it forever.
The absolute best hunting / target gun I've ever owned!

Couldn't even count the guns that have lost to the cops from my Dad getting busted so many times. Life's education isn't cheap my friend!
I actually chased my old "38 Special w/Pearl Handle" down to a Crack-house. Cracker-Head biotch took my Grandpa "Speeds" carrying pistol. He was an enforcer for the Ghost Riders MC... so it had a very special history and meant more to me than I can explain. I was trying to buy it back... when the place got BUSTED! :shocked
You can't imagine the explaining I had to do on that one to stay outta jail.

We have a few...some highlights include
Kimber Model 82SA Serial number in the low 500s - Dad bought it the day I came home from the hospital (long story short, I was three months premature, and wasn't supposed to live, well...here I am ;))
A few old Parker Shotguns
Colt "snake guns"
WWI era 03 w/WWII training rifle 22.
Springfield WWII Mil-Spec 1911 - serial number 11 (we stumbled on this; my folks got it for me for my b-day this past year). - Still looking for an original for a decent price
A few Old Remingtons and Winchesters most early 20th Century some late 1800s.
Some other's...but those give you an idea.
My carry gun and most often shot is a Springfield XD-40...

Oh yeah! a 1943 MB all original Jeep right down the to machine gun mount and 03 mount. Saving to get a 30 cal for the mount. :D

do you know what the "AE" means on my 30-30?

Blaze
01-03-2004, 03:23 AM
I just didn't realize you wanted to see a pick...I found the camera, took some pics, but had deleted the download software thinking I wouldn't need it anymore...loking for disc now. The "AE" denotes an "angled ejection" for mounting of a scope....the original winchesters we're striaght top load (before the days of a scope) and in later years it was modified to eject at a lil of an angle for the purpose of mounting a scope and not interfereing with ejection. For that reason I've always personaly prefered the Marlin 30-30 but the 94 is a time proven classic...nice all around weapon as Pepe` has mentioned...:thumbup

you can even get handgun loads like 44mag, 45 long colt, 38 special, and 357 mag...:shrug

When they first came out, they realy had some issues. IIRC it was introduced about the time that Baretta took over the military contract. I was just out there and my father-in-law is like big into firearms... we went to one of his regular places to shop and I asked about it... the guy that owned the store said that they will do it, but it can add to the price of the gun... you might as well buy it in your home state... cuz he has to charge you for the paperwork, then, your dealer here is likely gonna charge you also... they gotta make SOMEthing in it... beaurocratic BS...

Hey Blaze...we got about 75-100 old AKs laying around some look brand new and an assortment of other old rifles and pistols. The problem is that we can only ship home weapons produced before 1898 so they will probably end up getting chopped up. It really is a shame...we took one of the AKs out to the range the other day and I can honestly say that I would hate to be on the receiving end!

Crappy copies...we found one that the "US" patent number had been stamped in a few times...I haven't heard of any US stuff being found. Alot of Russian stuff.

I am shopping for a P-1 (Post War version of the P-38)

Could somebody find me a set of wood grips for my Colt Frontier Scout "62 Midnight Special"?

My current collection includes:

Ruger P-95 (semi-auto 9mm)
Remington 870 (Express Super Magnum, black with pistol grip and extended tube)
AK-47 (Bulgarian/U.S. SAR-1, with red dot scope)

I have a concealed weapons permit for the 9mm, but rarely pack it.

My other two brothers have AKs too, and one brother has around 11 guns. My grandfather owns a U.S. Government edition Colt 1911 that was carried by an U.S. officer while in Germany during WW1, an 1885ish Star (actually I'm not exactly sure about the brand, but it's got a hex-shaped barrel and uses an external powder cap, but I do know that it was owned by a real Indian), and a 30-40 Craig that was used in the Spanish-American war. All three guns were given to him. I've shot the 1911--still a mean machine!

I was going to get my cousin a Kimber Custom Stainless .45 like mine before he shipped out last Feb. But he was out of our country before I could source it for him. He is back in the states now and can get his own...

very nice Blaze. now what is the difference between the two? and ya know whats funny?...with the first one you could have bought 2 (thats right 2) of my broncos. and the second one you could have bought 1 and have some pocket change left.

i will let you know how it shoots as soon as i get it..i also bought 2500 rounds of ammo for it(and the 2 other airsoft guns i have won so far----another bidding on) i dont know what kind of batterys it takes...i guess i should look into that. or if it even comes with one.
the thing about Ebay is that they rip you a new anus with shipping costs.

here are the ones i have won so far and are bidding on.

something i got out bid on in the last min
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3650422055&category=31686&rd=1

the thing with those guns are that they are spring fired and you have to cock them everytime you wanna fire....but not the Desert Eagle...oh yea!!

The first one is a .50AE
The second one is a 44mag
I've got an extra 44mag barrel thats 14 inches long and will be used as my hunting setup. (gotta get a scope for that one)
Also there's four .50 clips, and six 44mag clips.

Blaze

Well, I picked up the 44mag today...not near as bad as I thought it would be. I think the size helps with the recoil. Can't wait to get my .50...:toothless

If you are looking for a 1911a1, look in to Springfield's WWII Mil Spec. NOT the Mil-Spec, but the WWII Mil-Spec.

I have one, have never shot it but those who do shoot their's say it's a great gun. The gun runs between $350 and $400 - I got mine for $359 otd.

Tomh971: not waiting for a war, but wouldn't want to be undergunned just in case. LOL

jackhart: Thank you, it put a dent in my go fast money but my toys are safe when I'm not home. \

bill@: The Springfield WWII milspec is the one is the one I'm leaning towards. Thanks for the review.
