Mostly correct. I don't believe they are trying to please everyone at all, only trying to get (re)elected, so that they can do as "they" please. But I know exactly what ya mean ;)

Should my opinion on gay marriage change because of the difference in culture of the people in front of me? I would think, that if you gave the same answer every time, people might stop asking :D But if you waffle and change your story all the time, you are going to get asked again and again.

I used to have a lot of respect for McCain, but he has let his Presidential ambitions change many of the things I respected him for.

Well let me present a short video for contrast purposes... Here is Ron Paul in 1988.... Tell me, does his message sound familiar? Here is a man who has held a consistent non-flip-flopping position for over 30 years in government... But guys like McCain can't stay consistent for a single campaign...
