Yup, he is a politician.

Double talk is standard amongst those who try to please everyone.

Mostly correct. I don't believe they are trying to please everyone at all, only trying to get (re)elected, so that they can do as "they" please. But I know exactly what ya mean ;)

^ how many times have you been asked in front of thousands of people with different cultures what your opinion on Gay Marriage is?

Or your most current opinion on the war in iraq on terriers?

I think alot of these are organic and complex answers that dont get the proper explanation on a snippet video. Not to say he is not double talking, just that i would be sick to death of having some make-up faced ass goblin ask me about my stance on gay marriage 55 thousand times.

it would wear me down.

Should my opinion on gay marriage change because of the difference in culture of the people in front of me? I would think, that if you gave the same answer every time, people might stop asking :D But if you waffle and change your story all the time, you are going to get asked again and again.

I used to have a lot of respect for McCain, but he has let his Presidential ambitions change many of the things I respected him for.

That's the thing about these politicians. If he said it was going to be "easy," before, when it gets hard, rather than blab some more, the best thing to do is shut your damn mouth. :smilie_slap

It makes you look less like an politician.

Well let me present a short video for contrast purposes... Here is Ron Paul in 1988.... Tell me, does his message sound familiar? Here is a man who has held a consistent non-flip-flopping position for over 30 years in government... But guys like McCain can't stay consistent for a single campaign... I'd love to hear some comments on this clip from 1988.
