NEW TIRES

I am thinking about putting 34x 10.50 LTB's on the Bronco. Can get them mounted and all for $625. Tires I have right now are shot. This would be cheap way of getting it up going. This spring unless deal falls through truck will be getting fuel injection for cheap. Next winter will focus on lift and maybe axle change, so with buying the LTB I wouldn't be spending much. Good idea or any other suggestions. Also truck mostly off-road or back roads. -Mike

super swamper LTB [34x10.50x15] , getting them from Badlands in Attica. they are pretty cheap at $135 each. about $80 dollars + gas cheaper than 4wheel parts warehouse in Indy for everything. $135x4+$85[mount&balance]=$625.

I just put 35" Pro Comp Mud Terrains on my '78..for same price as that. Their '4 for price of 3' sale is hard to beat. I've only put 1000 miles on tehm so far but I'm pleased with 'em.

does that include mounting and balancing. All the shops I checked wanted about $186 for procomp MT's but jacked thier price up to $220 range for the special.

just be aware that those, from what i heard, are pretty soft, so if it's a DD they will wear very quickly.

Oh..no..I had to pay another $64 on top of that for mounting and balancing. The shop I bought them from really pushes the '4 for 3' sales and even lets folks know when the next one is expected (ProComp apparently does that sale regularly) so their customers - like me - can elect to wait if that sale deal is not on when they walk in the store...no mark up games or other nonsense like that. That kinda crap just ain't right...

yeah, places like to jack up the price during sales, make you think you're saving when you aren't. they also like to raise prices on mud tires during the summer, when they know people are getting new tires for fun

Where do you buy your tires bmc69? Not putting lift on anytime soon so thought tires might fit better and not using them for DD

Trick Trucks. They have something like 11 outlets in MD/DC/VA areas and one is right by me..but that's about it..they are not nationwide. Sorry to hear yr lcoal ProComp distributors seem to be arseholes about honoring the sale intent...

They wear out fast. Ogechee4X4 (John) had them and I don't think he got much more than 15,000 mile out of them. They are really soft.

That's funny..I bought them beacuse the toher guys I run with ahd the opposite experience. One fella has had his ProComp MTs on his F-350 SD (alos 35s) for something like 60K miles now..??

Frankly, I was wanting to replace my 35" Dunlop AT Rovers I've had since '95..believe it or not they went 110K :shocked and still had legal depth tread left (albeit barely) on two of the 4 and never had the 'usual' cupping that ya always seem get on solid axle front end trucks..but the cotton pickers at Dunlop discontinued the 15" 35s for some reason. (guess they couldn't stand having a tire in their line-up that lasted that crazy long...)

I went with the ProComp MTs beacuse I wanted to stop swapping between street and trail tires every ride (knowing the MTs would not wear like an AT..) but still picked 'em on basis of expected wear life compared to other options. I run a lot of Interco tires on other rigs and for trail tires on my street/trail rigs and I've never gotten diddly for miles out of any of those.

ya I've heard about wear problems, also heard they are hard to get balanced. For what I'd be using them for thought price and size would be OK. next summer if funds are avalable hopefully going bigger with axle upgrades.

BMC69 I think he meant the LTB's not the procomp MT

I didn't buy the LTB's, after talking to a friend at work he told me he knew of a set of MT claws. Tires ended up being brand knew {mounted but never used} MT radial claws 35x12.50x15. Got the tires for $650 . look great on the bronco, but definitly going to put some kind of lift or trim the fenders. -Mike

post some pics of them on your bronco. i've heard those claws do alwsome, and on the top truck challenge a lot of guys run those and they do awsome. i'm thinking of getting those 34x10.5 ltbs for just off road tires, cheap and would bite hard, not much more you can get i think 33x13.5.

I hope you like your Claw's.

I had them on my BII for a couple years for off-roading only and they worked really well. As long as you kept them spinning they would bite, and wouldn't get jumpy like a Bogger or TSL sometimes can. Kept them at 10psi on the trail and never lost a bead. However they did suck ass on any sidehill.
