89 302 H.O. roller motor. short block Balanced crank, ten thousanths underground. Clevite bearings. (main and cam). Forged pistons. ...

what does the ten thousanths underground mean.. is it a bad thing a good thing a neutral thing.. if i were to rebuild this motor would it be a problems.. thanks for the advice... and what might a motor like that be worth

Probably meant that the main and rod journals were machined to 0.010-inch undersize. Pretty standard when grinding and balancing a crankshaft to rebuild a motor. I'd be interested to see what type of pistons and rings were used, not to mention which heads.

Yeah its an undersized crank. Just like boring a cylinder, they grind the crank journals down to get a fresh surface. Nothing to worry about.

they used forged pistons.. and stock heads.. i dont want the heads anyway and thanks for the replys
