Ok I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this..if not then please move or I will repost..
My friend and I did a SAS leaf conversion on his 84 bronco. Many of you might have noticed my other post about the axle weld's breaking where the axle tubes enter the housing on the factory welds (holes in the housing). It's about 3/8 off.
the axle he found was from a "89 F-250 Dana 44 according to the yard it was already pulled". It is a straight axle using leafs springs. I thought that the 80 ish f-250's used a TTB set up with leafs..
Anyway, the axle is a DANA 44, ball joints, high pinion with leaf pads and huge disc brake calipers. Could someone share some information as to what years this axle might have come from? The is no tag. We have traveled over 150 miles searching junk yards...the cheapest we have found was $350.. but we can get them from online yards for $175 shipped and 6 month warranty but we are not sure what year this axle actually came from. Any help would be great!!!!
The only numbers I see is C38561
