Well, I started on the 84 today, im putting in 3/4 axles to hold the weight of the 6.9 diesel that im picking up next weekend. (the old 300-6 is on its last leg, and the diesel is cheap) I traded my 38in groundhawgs, coils, and ext radius arms for a leafsprung 44, rear 60, 8in superlift chevy springs front and rear , shocks, and 33-12.5-16.5 tires on 10 in wheels (My buddies hate me for the deals i get) The rear springs and axle are in, tomorrow im going to get new u-bolts and hopefilly start on the front. Enjoy... by the way, Ive got a 79 f150 dana 44 for sale :thumbup

Just curious why a 44 and not a 60? Was is just that the 44 was included in the deal or that you don't ned one? either way cool build up

A 44 came with the deal, maybee someday I will find a cheap 60 somewhere, then I can bolt it in fairly easily. Besides, a 44 has to weigh less than a 60, which should help becouse this thing is gonna be a tank when its done.

x2 I'm kind of leaning more in the direction of a Cummins I think but still. The more info the better.

idi 7.3L will weigh the same as a 6.9. or close enough that it wont matter.

Sounds like a great project. I had a 6.9 for years and liked it, it has enough power but slow, also easy to work on and should make for a easy swap since it has an injector pump instead of all the electrial injection. Good luck.

Rear axle is all bolted down, the front is "mocked" into place. We started on the front crossmember/ spring hanger mount, its 5/16 angle. Here some pics:thumbup
