Im done parting out that '78 Jeep i had bought a while ago for mudfest.

One of the last things i sent out was the back window.

Long story short, i sent it to the buyers old addy (Addy#1) that was on his PayPal account. It wasnt until i went to send him the tracking number that i realized he sent me another addy (Addy#2) that i should have sent it to.

Well i get a call from the guy who now lives at addy#1. He gave me his email and we discussed how to solve this problem. I told him ill just have him ship it out to addy#2 and send him a payment through paypal.

So I do a UPS and FedEx shipping quote. Both these people are in the same state (Cali) and are about an hour apart. Shipping for a one-day came to about $13 and some change on both the ups and fedex sites.

I had the exact measurements and weight still from when i sent it out a few days before.

So i agreed to send him $15 for shipping and $20 for his time and gas.

I get home and get an email from him.

Hey Ethan,

I sent it UPS Ground. It cost $24.32 shipping and I had to use a non-wells fargo atm to get the cash which takes 3 days to clear from Paypal. It also cost $4 in ATM fees, that is $2 wells Fargo and $2 atm fee. So, please send me the difference for post plus the atm fees, $13.32 via paypal.

Your tracking number is 1ZE11E390310150528

UPS will pick it up from the shipping store later today and it will be traceable then.

Thanks,
Nicolas

Upon reading this i got kinda pissed.

First, i dont see how the hell is cost that much when both quotes were very similar.

Second, why the hell did he go to an ATM that wasnt his... and i would assume most people today have debit or credit card.

and ive never been to an ATM that charges $4 in fees.

And i sent the dude $20... which i thought was more then generous.

And the Tracking number dont work... i dunno about you guys but any time ive shipped anything, my tracking numbers worked as soon as i got home. I got this Email at 3pm my time... its now 8:30

Would you say this guy is blowing me smoke? Ive asked to see recepts before i send anymore cash. I might end up just giving the money back to the buyer and cutting my losses (close to $100 when its all said and done)

Yes i screwed up, and im willing to fix it, but i am not willing to be assraped by some queer in Cali.

Wait until it arrives at address number 2 before you do anything. Explain the situation to the buyer and tell him that if the situation doesn't resolve itself, you will refund his money.

At that point, if it turns out to be that you are getting pucked, i'd take any and all documenation, get it together, and start talking to paypal and the police.

so this guy goes completely out his way to fix your **** up and you wanna **** him over?....granted it may sound excessive on shipping but to be honest I have never really had any luck using the on line qoutes, I usually end up paying more but dont try to get more from the buyer.

If you sent him $20 extra let him use that money to cut the difference. He will still make a profit. You got to be careful with these people in CA, they will steal your money and then sue you.

for what he is claiming he paid to ship plus the fees, plus the extra $20, he could almost have driven there and back and delivered it himself for less.

I dont get where your comming from.

all he had to do was drop the box off at either a UPS or FedEx. What the hell is so hard about that?

I would have ZERO problem doing it for somebody else.

people **** up and then everybody takes advantage of them... no wonder society is all ****ed to hell.

Ive lost my butt before too on shipping things.... i sold a set of shocks on here that were over what i sold them for... didnt care, not worth the hassle.

I loss on this window... IM not asking for anymore money.

And ive been going to fed-ex... their online things are more accurate then the UPS.... also i wonder if UPS really gives u the cheapest way sometimes.

I didnt know if the buyer could have driven over there or not..... i figured id cover the cost so the buyer didnt have to do shit.

Now that the the tracking number works, im more at ease... if the guy really wants the $10 ill send it to him.... if he needs it that ****ing bad.

you know.... after thinking about it... im bitchin about him wanting $10... why am i bitchin about sending the money he asked? I mean wtf is $15

From this window deal perspective, yeah i lost out.... look at it a little broader, i can afford it, so hell with it.... pay him and shut him up. Not worth arguing.

I still hate people.
