Yep, I was about to say an air cooled Deutz... we've got a teeny one of those in one of our old rollers that's about to go to the scrap yard.

I figured it came off of something industrial use because of the air compressor on the side of it.

I don't think you'd have a lot of fun with all 18 of those horsies though...

I've seen a cheby truck with a turbine engine out of a helicopter powering it... I say where there's a will, there's a way.

Torch and the jaws of life might be of assistance....Fog i dunno,... sounds a little technical to me,... i was thinkin' more along the lines of positioning it in the engine bay, ... then maybe jump up and down on it till the hood closes!:toothless:histerica:beer:drinkbud

thats quite extreme!,.... i would have thought the chevy would start to " undress" itself if it tried to run one of those things,... blow all the panels of that is!:toothless:histerica:beer:drinkbud

Maybe not with 18 horses but he could more than make up for it with the 17000 ft.lbs. of torque it makes.:thumbup

It's gotta be British brake horsepower. 1 bhp is a hell of alot more than our current standard of rating hp.

Is this guy still running his afterburning jet turbine on CA roads? Last I heard he was facing CA EPA issues and probably would not get renewal tags.

Nah, IMO, there's way mo' better choices out there for small diesels then air cooled deutzs. They're not powerful by any stretch of the imagination, they just last forever.
