My wife just bought a 79 Bronco from her brother up in TN. It should be trailered down here in a few weeks. I've ridden in it once, but don't know jack about it really. It has a Lincoln 460 in it, new rebuild within a few thousand miles (supposedly) and 39.5 tires on it. Like I said, other than that, no clue what is coming. I do know it is pretty beat to hell, has some rust issues in the doors and tailgate, and the windshield is cracked. I was told it has new hubs and new battery, also. I am really looking forward to looking through it and making a list of things to do when it arrives. Any advice of things to check out first would be great, I come from the vintage mustang world (I have a 70 Mach 1) and am new to trucks. Primarily interested in making it safe and reliable for around town errand running and occasional trips off road. Thanks.

welcome to fsb!

first thing i would do is check all of your fluids and/or just go ahead and replace them. then ck. normal things like filters, plugs, etc. listen to the rig and see/feel how it drives, that will normally point you in the right direction on what needs fixing. you can post up here with any specific questions, there's a ton of "how to" threads if you search as well. good luck.
