View Full Version : Bloomsburg Jamboree
bnkrtstk 01-21-2004, 05:14 PM Alright I know it's about 6 months away, but if you want a place to stay it's not too early. Anyone planning on going? PJB is having their annual club meet there. I was hoping some of you planned on going. It's a blast. Mud drags, tough truck, Monster trucks, a shiz load of 4x4's etc....

jackhart 01-21-2004, 06:44 PM what's the crowd like? is it a family type thing, or a little rougher type of party?
/==0=\ 01-21-2004, 08:17 PM where's bloomsburg?
drexelsteve 01-21-2004, 08:28 PM i was wondering when you'd ask. u know i'm in, i'll even bring boobies too :thumbup
94 XLT BRONCO 01-21-2004, 08:31 PM Im close to that....... how is it?
bnkrtstk 01-21-2004, 08:33 PM Jackhart it's a very diverse crowd, mostly family. My girls (5 and 8) love it. We bring a kiddie pool, grill, easy-up etc..
93- It's in PA. about 2.5 hours from Philly.
Steve- I figured you'd be in.
I'm staying at the Red Roof Inn in Danville. We stayed at Indian Head Campground a few times, it's NOT family oriented. Drinking parties until 3am. Crowded showers, wife won't go back. I'm sure it's nice on any weekend other than the Jambo weekend, but too much hassle.
94 - What little I know of you, I think you'd like it.
No open containers, but if you hide it,(solo cup) and don't get out of hand. They leave you alone.
94 XLT BRONCO 01-21-2004, 08:37 PM Im just south of Harrisburg..... dont think im that far...
bnkrtstk 01-21-2004, 08:46 PM 94 Harrisburg to Bloomsburg is about 90 miles
/==0=\ 01-21-2004, 08:54 PM Where is it in relation to altoona/somerset? I've got friends up there I've been itching to see
lightninghoss 01-21-2004, 11:08 PM Steve - you know I'm in.... I look forward to bringing the "disco free wheeler" out! :rockon
reptillikus 01-22-2004, 12:14 AM Ill probably be there this year too :thumbup
bnkrtstk 01-22-2004, 09:46 AM Where is it in relation to altoona/somerset? I've got friends up there I've been itching to see
125 miles, give or take.
Ron, or should I call you "hoss". Glad you could join us. :thumbup
DirtrangerMUD 02-05-2004, 03:42 AM The Possessed Bronco will be making an appearance this year in Bloomsburg! if things go like usual...we wont get there till 2am the morning of the race. but we are planning on going early with 2 trucks. i will keep you posted!

Accessory Man 02-06-2004, 01:52 PM I want to go on the last day of the show, maybe the whole weekend. I say the last day becuase venders sell stuff like tires and and wheels and lift kits cheap, rather then pack them up and take them home, I missed it last year cuase I had to work, I will go this year and hopefully have money too
bnkrtstk 02-06-2004, 02:51 PM That's good in theory A-man, but most just pack it up on the trailer and move it to the next show. Either way, I hope you can make it.

The Guys who follow shows do, but the Actual Venders, Like Smittybilt, and Procomp, and BF Goodgrich etc, do not want totake stuff home. I have gotten alot of free stuff at vender shows and the guys I supposed to go with last year got 35" BFG All terians for $50 a peice.
Remember, most of manufactures reps fly in, and have there products shipped to a local retailer so they can pick it up, or if they drive in, there products come from elsewhere. Pro Comp had complete lift kits going for $200-$400 bucks last year at the shows end. Another plus for me, is I still know and try to keep in touch with the reps I met at my former job. Either way I AM Going
chambiec1 02-26-2004, 07:17 PM i wanna go, im gonna have to ask my dad, then i can finally meet some of you guys
BigBad94Bronco 02-27-2004, 12:50 AM My truck will be there , it will be the first show for the bronco and it's new suspension . We have been going to the show for years , great time and fun for everyone .
We should all meet at some point at the show this year . My truck will be entered in the show with the rest of the Long Island Outlaws , stop on by .
bnkrtstk 03-03-2004, 12:59 PM So who's staying where? For you party animals, Indian Head Campground is 3 miles from the Fairgrounds, but don't plan on sleeping if you're staying there.
stangmata 03-03-2004, 01:21 PM Hrm. I might be in for that. Sounds like a good time.
Indian Head sounds like it could be fun too :thumbup

I can't wait either
Kallure 03-15-2004, 11:28 PM As a heads up for the Jamboree, Steve and I wanted to find out where everyone is staying or if we're all gonna gather at the same campground. I think we were talking about camping, but we thought it would be much more fun if everyone is going to be hanging out and chilling and drinking some beer and stuff like that. :toothless
drexelsteve 03-16-2004, 12:04 AM yeah, what she said :thumbup
bnkrtstk 03-16-2004, 09:16 AM We have reservations at the Red Roof Inn in Danville, but are changing them to the Comfort Inn in New Columbia. Fordexp1 will be staying there as well, among others from PJB, others are camping you might want to check over there for location. My wife won't camp for the Jamoborees anymore, we tried it twice and it's just too much BS to deal with, getting the kids showered while drunk bitches are squatting over the sink to pee, loud musinc until 3am(even in a t-storm) people driving around the campground just acting like fools. Maybe I'm just getting old, but that's not fun anymore. We'll camp to camp, but not for events like this.
Accessory Man 03-16-2004, 11:24 AM Thanks, That helped me make up my mind......
Camping it is!!! :thumbup
bnkrtstk 03-16-2004, 11:38 AM Whatever works for you Ass man :thumbup . If that's what you're into call Indian Head now. 570-784-6150. We looked at Turner's High View, it was nice, but first come first served no reservations :banghead . They said they start to fill up on Wednesday.570-784-6940. The name suits them, they have a great view.
drexelsteve 03-16-2004, 01:29 PM well i know where i'm stayin :thumbup
Kallure 03-31-2004, 12:00 PM So who all is definitely going? I've been lagging on making the reservations and bnkrtstk keeps telling us to do them NOW, so I figured I would call Indian Head this afternoon so it's done. I was going to book a site for a few of us, so if you're camping and want to camp with us, let me know and I'll pencil you in.
Steve, should I make the reservations for the 9th through the 11th (Friday through Sunday)? Are we gonna try to head up on Thursday night and take Friday off?
bnkrtstk 03-31-2004, 12:13 PM I am going up Thursday afternoon, and going to Knoebles (http://www.knoebels.com/) Thursday night.
Accessory Man 03-31-2004, 12:20 PM I am in for friday night, saturday, and sunday
bnkrtstk 03-31-2004, 12:58 PM I'll have the pool filled and waiting( for the kids of course) :brownbag The way it looks I'll be driving the 89 up there.
lightninghoss 03-31-2004, 01:15 PM I'll be heading up on Thursday night, can't wait!!

5.0-BRONCO 04-02-2004, 05:48 PM anyone go to the ALL TRUCK NATIONALS at CARLISLE FAIRGROUNDS in Carlisle PENNSILVANIA, i went last year, mostly show trucks but there are prolly 200 4X4s' lifted, trail rigs, and little lowered show trucks also,
they have a burn out contest, where poeple spin there tires till they pop or blow up, last year they had a old ford truck on 44" boggers do it with a a 572 Cu in supercharged big block, pretty fun to watch, they have a few booths of tools and shit,
anyone ever go or hear it
pretty sure the website is carsatcarlisle.com, i think if i remember correctly it is in the summer sometime, so its not that far away
Kallure 04-07-2004, 02:53 PM Anybody get their campground reservations? I've tried to call Indian Head for the past four business days - three days, it rang and rang and rang. The other day, I got a busy signal all afternoon. Don't know what's up but unless someone answers, I can't get reservations. :cry
bnkrtstk 04-07-2004, 03:05 PM They might be closed for the season, but they normally answer, we had to try a few times. If you want to throw caution to the wind, you could try Turner's High View. They were cleaner, but last year they said they don't take reservations, first come, first served.
I think the Comfort Inn still has some rooms. $50/night

bnkrtstk 04-13-2004, 12:29 PM Thanks! I'll call then - or do you think it'll be too late? :shrug
You might be able to get a site. Last year they roped off what is normally an open area and made small tent sites out it. They have a habit of putting people where ever there is an open spot.
stangmata 04-13-2004, 12:32 PM Man I have missed out on a lot....I have to get back into this thread
bnkrtstk 04-21-2004, 02:11 PM Just an FYI, Indian Head is answering the phone, but they don't officially open until May 1. I got bored at work and figured I'd call and check for you party animals. :beer
