I am about ready to start my SAS project i just picked up a dana 44 front and a ford 9in rear for $300. I am going to get cage radius arms and was looking to get super lift front coils. How much would the 8 1/2 to 9in springs sag after i put weight on em? would it be extreme like 2 to 3 inches or not much at all. i was looking to go about 11 to 12 inches of lift by moving the spring tower down 3 inches to add more lift. I think this would provide ample room for 39X18 tires on 15 rims. thanks for your help

Half ton axles love 39's. I dont really think you'd need much more than 10" lift for 39's. Most would recommend cutting the fenders at least a little for extra clearance and a lower center of gravity. I dont think the 9" coils will sag a whole lot.

dont do it 39's and 1/2 ton dont mix. i would run 37's at most with alloy shafts. and those 9'' springs havent settled any in over a year.

so 37 at the most? i dont really care how tall the tire is i just want it wide. I like the look of wide tires. and 37 dont go over 16 the 39 jumps to 18 so i thought it would look good

Are you just going for looks or do you just want a big poser rig?

i am serious when it comes to offroad i beat my truck to hell so i am no poser. I also would like my truck to look big and tough at the same time the 37s in this pic look surprisingly wide.

Ditch the half ton axles

I go for wide tires for off roading reasons such as weight disbursement to a degree less sink etc. Keep in mind 37's will take less gearing and less axle and if you increase tire height the extra width doesn't look as impressive. ever see a 35/15 wide? They look like sand paddles practically. just my .01 cuz it aint wort .02
